Summary: "Dance To This" is Hot & Sizzling
Comment: I heard some of the tracks from this new CD from a friend who was playing it in her car recently and I am in love with it! I just got my copy and I really love every track. My favorites are the title track "Dance To This", "Back It Up", "This Is Real", "Missing You" and "I'm Free". These songs really speak to me in so many ways.
I love Alfonzo Blackwell's latest CD. It's a sure winner. It's one of those CD's that you need to have in your collection. "Dance To This" takes you on a very pleasurable journey of great sax melodies and beautifully written and produced tracks that blend together wonderfully. I listen to this CD every day. I also love to look at the album cover every day, too. Alfonzo is delicious eye candy. He's so super sexy.
I recommend this CD to those of you who love really great music!

Summary: "Dance To This" ranks #1 in Jazz Funk
Comment: Alfonzo Blackwell is relentless with his musical progression throughout the many years. Y'all, I remember when his debut CD "Let's Imagine" came out back in the day. This cat can blow.
I just got his latest CD "Dance To This" and I am already wearing it out! We in the south love great music and Alfonzo is really bringing the funk on this one. The CD kicks off with a BANG with the title track "Dance To This" and doesn't let up from the funk. "Talkin' Saxy" is a killer track that finishes the CD with a MFSB inspired funk trip.
Alfonzo Blackwell is a true jazz master on the saxophone. Not only is he a fantastic saxophonist, he writes, produces and plays several other instruments on all of his CD compilations. He is one of the most talented musicians of this era. I've been a fan of his music for well over a decade. This CD is a must have if you know your jazz music. He's like the Miles of today.

Summary: Another Disappointing CD
Comment: This is the third and last disappoining Cd I will purchase from Alfonzo Blackwell. The music and his sax playing is very weak. This appears to
be the same old uninspired formula he uses every time. If you are looking for some great smooth jazz there is a lot better music out there to spend your money on other then this one.

Summary: Sizzling Sax Tracks from a Cool Jazz Cat
Comment: "Dance To This" is one of the most profound jazz CD's of today. Alfonzo Blackwell has done it again. He wonderfully blends various styles of jazz, funk, r&b and soul to a stellar collection of hot & spicy tracks on his latest project.
The CD opens up with the title track "Dance To This" and Alfonzo Blackwell takes you on a musical journey that is unparalleled. The 1st song is fired up and sizzling like a hot summer day. "New Day" is one of the sunniest feeling songs that I've heard in a while. Its melody is infectious. "Take A Look" is a sexy and sophisticated song that encompasses all elements of Alfonzo's musical style. I have all of his great CD's.
"Back It Up" is a sax lovers fantasy. It's funk'd greatness. Check it out. "Inside My Heart", "Never Let You Go", In The Key of Love", "Missing You" and "I'm Free" round out the CD with lush ballads and smooth jazz whimsy. "Talkin' Saxy" is the last song on the CD and he really takes it home on this track. It's obvious that this cat has cut his teeth from the bebop giants and is not your average "Smooth Jazz" saxophonist. It's an ode to MFSB and is so jazzy; you won't be able to contain yourself. This CD puts the F in FUNK.
I saw Alfonzo in concert at SOB's in downtown NYC a few years ago and he was phenomenal. Not many performers in the world have the ability to give an enhanced performance of their music CD. True jazz and music connoisseurs can appreciate this. I look forward to catching his show this summer.
I recommend purchasing 2 copies of Alfonzo Blackwell's "Dance To This" CD to pass one onto your friend and/or family member, if you are a lover of pure smooth jazz at its finest. Tell everyone!
