Customer Rating: Summary: Umm.... Has it been too long? Comment: Well, let me begin by saying that I - like most Mraz fans - think that this guy is absolutely amazing. To see him live will truly change your life and musical outlook, having seen him 3 times and pining for the next time that he comes back out to Australia.
Having seen the songs of "We Sing..." played live approx 2 months ago, I was more than looking forward to this release - I was DESPERATE for it!
Now that it is out... I feel that it suffers from production. There is too much horn, too much everything. I struggle to hear the quality in the produced versions that I heard in the acoustic originals from the individual ep's. "I'm Yours" & "Live High" are perfect examples of this.
There is no doubt that the amazing talent that is Mr A-Z deserves to be heard by a wider audience and will be given that quality of this disc. My problem is that it just doesn't capture the same quality that he manages to bring to his acoustic performances.
If you are new to his world, do yourself a favour and check out his back-catologue, especially the acoustic sets.... You will not be dissapointed!
Happy Listening!
Customer Rating: Summary: Sing, dance and BUY (don't steal) this album Comment: I really liked Waiting for My Rocket to Come (2002) and Mr. A-Z (2005), and after waiting three years, it's finally time for more Mraz
This is a great album filled with a mix of rhythms for any musical taste, and he had me hooked from first single "I'm Yours", a fun, reggae-based summer-ready track, with lyrics like:
"Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
and now I'm trying to get back
Before the cool done run out"
After that, try "Lucky" featuring Colbie Caillat, a breezy mid-tempo number that's extremely addictive. I have it on "repeat" as I type this. These two songs alone make the album worthwhile.
Also recommended are "Make it Mine" (jazzy with horns); "Butterfly" (funky, more horns); "Love for a Child" (soaring chorus, nice melody); "If it Kills me" and "A Beautiful Mess".
To quote from the ballad "Details in the Fabric" (with James Morrison):
"Hold your own
Know your name
And go your own way"
Let's hope Jason Mraz keeps on holding his own, and that we don't have to wait another three years for another album. Recommended to buy (not steal).

Customer Rating: Summary: Love the music. The packaging could be better Comment: First of all, what is with the cardboard packaging these days? More and more artists are having their work put in cardboard instead of the jewel case that used to be the standard. This just seems cheap. And the booklet inside is like the paper that comes out of my printer. Very cheap.
As for the music, it's brilliant. I love Jason's laid back style. This is music to listen to on a lazy afternoon. It'll put you in a good mood and if you're already in one, it'll make it even better.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best album to listen to this season... Comment: Jason's lyrics and melodies never cease to amaze me. I was gladly surprised to hear that the instrumental production on this album wasn't as pronounced on his previous albums; his voice definitely has more opportunity to shine!
This album has a very interesting musical direction; you can tell how this 3 year hiatus has affected Jason's mentality and overall outlook on life. There are some instances such as 'Live High' and 'A Beautiful Mess' where you can hear background vocals coming together like a gospel choir. But Jason still keeps his laid back roots with his fun and articulate lyrics and island melodies ('I'm Yours' anyone?).
Jason keeps it fresh, revitalizing, and new. What more can you ask for? Go and get it!
Customer Rating: Summary: More Mraz, Only Better Comment: For his third studio album, Jason Mraz continues to prove why he has earned such strong support since his debut in 2003. "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things" steers Mraz firmly back into the singer-songerwriter genre, avoiding some of the pop trappings that cropped up on his last album, "Mr. A-Z." This is both good and bad, because while the album lacks a song as powerful and mesmerizing as "O.Lover" or "Plane," it also lacks any real clunkers, something that cannot be said for his previous work ("Forecast" was a massive mistake of a song).
In fact, this is probably Mraz's most consistant studio effort to date. Opener "Make It Mine" is incredibly catchy and a perfect accompaniment to the changing weather, and as the CD continues there isn't one song that breaks the spell. Granted, both "I'm Yours" and "Lucky" (his duet with Colbie Callait), sound like they belong on the "Juno" soundtrack, but this is not a bad thing, and is true to Mraz's roots. As always, Mraz's voice is pleasant and soothing to listen too, while still packing a punch when necessary.
All that being said, Mraz still hasn't topped the magic of his Live album, "Tonight, Not Again." He's a good singer and a creative, witty songwriter, but he is an incredible performer who deserves to be seen live. If you for some reason don't own that album and think you'd be even remotely interested, you should buy that first. For those of you who already own the Live album and are fans of Mraz, "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things" is sure to appease your appetite until you can get to his next concert.

Jason Mraz's first set of all-new material in nearly three years, WE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS. sees Mraz continuing to tread his own distinctive artistic path, melding a variegated musical tapestry with passionate, personal lyricism. Among the highlights are collaborations with British tunesmith James Morrison and singer/ songwriter Colbie Caillat. "I'm Yours," the album's first single, was chosen due to the undeniable fan response to the song. A demo version of "I'm Yours" originally appeared on a limited release bonus EP Mraz put out with his last album. Today the song is an online sensation, with hundreds of usergenerated videos from more than 25 different countries now appearing on YouTube. Jason will be hitting the road this April on the "Music, Magic & Make Peace Tour".
