Customer Rating: Summary: Much of the same Comment: This new album from Leeland is much like their last album. They follow the same track with songs in the same genre and style. I think the album was great as an album, but I would liked it if they did something new. Maybe it's too much to expect from the second album, so I hope we see some changes in the third.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wonderful worship Comment: I love this cd, Leeland is so talented and songs were written or co written by Leeland. My favorite songs are the last two, Thief in the Night and May Our Praise. I would highly recommend.
Customer Rating: Summary: A diehard 12-year old Leeland fan has just emerged Comment: i don't know any other kids who have this album but I thought it was great! The songs are really uplifting, and I think anyone, even someone who likes Skillet or Thousand Foot Krutch, would enjoy it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good but not Great Comment: When I bought this cd, I was hoping for those stand out tracks like their previous effort "Sound of Melodies" provided. Sadly, at least to me, this cd didn't have those. I'm not saying that this is a bad cd, but I can't say that it is great either. Leeland is definitely gifted in writing lyrics and the music is more sonic this time around. But I don't know, it just felt like it was missing something. Some of the music even seemed like imitations of their last cd. I could just hear same guitar chord transitions and stylings that didn't separate itself from their first cd. There is growth on this cd, that is true, but not as much as what I hoping for or expecting from this gifted group. I hope that they continue to grow lyrically and musically as they develop their sound more. Plus I hope they don't get stuck in the "playing-it-safe" sound that so many bands get stuck in.
Here's hoping for an even fresher sound the 3rd time around whenever that comes.
Customer Rating: Summary: Doomed for Greatness Comment: Since the very moment I met Leeland Mooring and his fellow bandmates, I knew that they were doomed for greatness. Okay, so maybe I had only heard one of his songs, in concert, when I was supposed to be working, but what I heard, I loved.
The most amazing part about Leeland the person, is that he's so young! There aren't very many nineteen year olds that can write like Leeland can. Honestly, his writing got so much deeper in this cd.
Though, it didn't have as much of a "worshipy" sound to it like his former, it didn't take the sophomore slump route either. The lyrics slam into you, and you soon realize you do want to run the opposite way. From start to finish, it is amazing lyrictry and awesome vocals cause you to stop and listen, it's inevitable.
Definitely applaud the band for their amazing music. : )
