Customer Rating: Summary: Bizzy Comment: It was a nice solo CD by Bizzy Bone - Favorite song on the album is track 4 (Muddy Waters).
Customer Rating: Summary: The Greatest of Bizzy Comment: I was completely floored when I heard this cd. From beginning to end Bizzy pours his emotions into this album. The beats are awesome...the lyrics are strong and make you really wanna listen to hear what he has to say...the messages are DEEP. I can play this cd from beginning to end with out skipping any tracks. He's done well for himself after leaving Bone. He isn't afraid to speak on his spirituality and praises the Lord at least one time on each track. I am truly impressed by this album. Please support it honestly and truthfully.
Customer Rating: Summary: Another reason for a Bone reunion. Comment: I knew this was going to be quality but whether or not it was going to be good was question. I myself was surprised by the level of maturity in the album. Sound and content. It still has a couple of good ol' thug songs in it but Bizzy sacrifices the mainstream antics here and makes it for from and for the heart. This rivals Heavenz Movie in terms of quality. All though I feel The Gift held the most emotion and just purity this one just holds itself well. I honestly see that Bizzy has found his niche and perfected his style. After Bone Thugs released Strength and Loyalty I was very interested to see what Bizzy had to give with a larger label. Well these guys need to reunite soon for at least one more before hip hop completely drowns itself and drags down the living legends with it. Please support this album. Respectful, honest and REAL music.
Customer Rating: Summary: Refreshing, to say the least ... Comment: Bizzy Bone's "A Song For You" is refreshing for several reasons, not the least of which is the fact that the vast majority of Bone: Thugs -N- Harmony" independant releases as of late have been mediocre, at best.
Another reviewer stated that the general tone of this album is reminiscent of "Freeway" off of Bizzy's "Heaven'z Movie" album, and I would like to echo that sentiment.
The occult'ish undertones of his first two albums have all but vanished, replaced by a more upbeat, uplifting, pseudo-spiritual tone. Tracks like "A Song for You", "What Have I learned", and "Mercy Mary" are the standouts in that department.
If you're looking for more hardcore, "E. 1999, Eternal" tracks, you may be slightly disappointed, there are only about 3 tracks that fall into that catagory - "Money", "Ballin'" (Which ironically features Jim Jones, but has little, if nothing to do with the 'hood classic for a few years back) and "Real [Freestyle]".
There are also a few tracks in the mix that are pretty nice, introspective peices, reminding you of Bizzy's humanity, struggles and empathetic nature, along similar lines of "Nobody Can Stop Me" - "Memories" and "Muddy Waters"
Out of the 13 track listing (not including the intro), I would only consider "I Truly Believe" and "I Need You" to be clunkers, not worthy of a second listen.
For those that like the album, but would grade it less than 5 stars, I would like to point out that in today's musical climate, it is rare to be able to pick up an album with such a high hit rate - 11 out of 13 tracks are better than what I would consider "average".
Is this "E.1999, Eternal" great? Maybe not. Is this "Heaven'z Movie" great? Yes. Consider this as a companion peice to "Heaven'z Movie", mix them together and sit back and chill.
Dem Bone Boyz is back!
Customer Rating: Summary: His best recent album Comment: i'm tired of people tryin to review Bizzy's life and other albums or the fact that he's out of the group, instead of discussing the album at hand, well i'm not gonna talk about Bizzy's other albums or even compare this to his past work, but i will say that when u bought the album i didn't have high expectations about it, but i have to say i'm surprised with how many songs i actually liked, i don't see how people can say "money" and "song for you" are the only good songs out of the whole album, every song in the album is at least listen-able, but there are some great songs like "Muddy waters", "what have i learned" and "i need you" a classic that once again shows that bizzy isn't only a great rapper but also a good singer.
Yes most of Bizzy's recent albums were full of reused material and mediocre production is some cases , but this one is definitely worth buying, I highly recommend it
