Customer Rating: Summary: Still All Time Greatest with a Bonus Visual Treat Comment: Anyone lucky enough to have been young when this CD came out will forever feel its impact. Nothing even resembling this type music and dancing has ever been done this way before or since. I can not imagine who could do anything like MJ did. He was the best in his prime and I am grateful I was alive to have experienced the mood. I wonder how 21 year olds of today accept this music? In the 80's this was top shelf for dance clubs. People ate it up in giant clubs back then. Soon after this music came Freestyle and the club scene got even hotter. Thinking back,, I owned this as a vinyl record and then a cassette, lol, and now this new type.
Enjoy this Special CD/DVD.
Customer Rating: Summary: Deluxe buy, just like the casebook edition Comment: Having listened to the pieces of the album, I must say that I am extremely happy that I purchased this collection of Michael Jackson. I really enjoyed the artwork of the casebook, which is -once-again- a work of art. I wish we get to see another -totally new- album by MJ, because for many of us he's still the King of Pop!
Customer Rating: Summary: THRILLED ! Comment: This is the ultimate of Michael Jackson ! Seriously , it doesnt get any better than this right here !
Customer Rating: Summary: Still "thrills" after 25 years Comment: Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is such a timeless album. This album will always be the greatest of all time. Why? Because no one makes good music like this anymore. My parents, who have always been big country music fans, had this album on record. That just shows how much Michael broke down barriers.
I was 2 years old when the original album came out and as I grew older and became a fan I bought this album on cassette tape. When the 25th anniversary edition came out I had to get this puppy on CD and of course get the deluxe edition with never before seen pictures.
The original songs are still awesome of course. The remixes are ok. "Wanna Be Startin' Something" with Akon and "Beat It" with Fergie are my favorite. "Billie Jean" with Kanye West is alright...the beat is good. However, Billie Jean is the kind of classic song that maybe should have been left alone. And "For all time" is such a beautiful song.
It is amazing that this album is selling better than current artists 25 years later. But not that amazing considering the type of album this is and the genius who made it. Plus, I think it is great that people who were not around when the original album came out can finally see what the fuss was about.
Michael Jackson is the greatest artist in history and this album, "Thriller" is the greatest as well.
Hopefully, Michael will give us new music sometime in the future. The music industry needs him. If you haven't bought this album yet then you are missing out. Go out and get the album; it is well worth it.
Customer Rating: Summary: The King is Back! Comment: This CD is great the DVD is a great addition as well. The extra songs will never compare to the originals, come on its Michael Jackson no one can touch him. however some are exceptional.

Should several of the tracks on the 25th anniversary edition of Thriller find their way onto your MP3 player, you're going to have to admit: the music holds up. "Beat It" is not about to go stale, at least not without a rumble, and neither are "Billie Jean" and "P.Y.T." Even if you put the record-hurtling hits aside, you're still left with the realization that without MJ, there might not have been a JT [Justin Timberlake], never mind a Ne-Yo (listen closely to "Human Nature" and "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'"). The bonus DVD bundled with the expanded CD includes a digitally redone version of the famous title-track video, among other clips, and it still astonishes with its choreography and attitude. As for the new tracks--Fergie inserts herself into "Beat It," Will.i.am takes on "The Girl Is Mine" and "P.Y.T.," Kanye West remixes "Billie Jean" (with characteristically subtle brilliance), Akon duets with M-Jack on "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," and the unreleased ballad "For All Time" (from the original Thriller sessions) is shined up and tacked on--they will suck you in like it was pop music's hugest year, 1983, all over again. Start brushing up on your moonwalk now. --Tammy La Gorce
