Customer Rating: Summary: Are you kidding me!!! Comment: OK, so I don't do this very often but I've got to tell you that this is one of the best things to happen to me in a long time. A friend of mine burned this for me and it only took me one listen to know that I had to buy it for myself. It reminded me of the good old days, you know when rock was rock nothing fancy just good music. Runnin' wild--Too much, Too young, Too fast--What's eatin' you, just to name a few are fantastic songs that I can't get out of my head. Sure you could compare them to AC/DC but there not they are Airbourne which is a great thing!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Hard Rock - Like KIX more than AC/DC Comment: This is a great Hard Rock CD. Built for driving fast, drinking hard and generally jumping around. Its been in my car all summer long!
Other reviews have mentioned that they sound like AC/DC; I would argue that they really are closer to the sound of KIX. Check KIX's debut cd and you'll see that Airbourne owes more to them than AC/DC. Faster, less bluesy. Another review mentioned Rhino Bucket as sounding similar too; which I wanted to point out that that band has a former KIX guitarist.
Customer Rating: Summary: Damn good music...and catchy as hell Comment: Airbourne Rocks! Yes, they do sound like AC/DC, but are they trying to copy AC/DC...no. The reviewer that gave them a 1 better hide before I find him and give him an embarassing slap to the face in front of his mom.
The songs are simple and fun, they're loud, and they're catchy as hell. I also thought it was refreshing that all the songs are distinctly different and all of them have great choruses...you can't help but scream along. Buy it!
Customer Rating: Summary: back in black? Comment: i swear this might as well be AC/DC.....this is pure in ur face rock! luv it! i gotta see these guys in concert now :)
Customer Rating: Summary: A GOOD AC/DC SOUND ALIKE, BUT CERTAINLY NOT THE BEST Comment: This album is pretty good, no doubt. However, if you like Airbourne you should be thrilled with Rhino Bucket. Rhino Bucket has been around since 1990 and are without question the next best thing in lieu of AC/DC. In fact, in the early 90's Simon Wright, one of AC/DC's former drummers, joined Rhino Bucket for a short while. So, as I said, if you like AC/DC, Rhino Bucket is the next best thing. If you like Ozzy era Black Sabbath, Sheavy is the next best thing. If you like Dio, Astral Doors is the next best thing. If you like Led Zeppelin, Kingdom Come is probably the next best thing. If you like Vanilla Ice, jamming ice picks in your ears is the next best thing, in fact, it's the better thing. Anyway, take a little time and check out the bands I mentioned, I know you'll be glad you did. Also, FYI, instead of buying an Airbourne or Rhino Bucket album you could just wait for AC/DC's new album 'Black Ice' which is scheduled for release in a couple of months. Or hell, just buy 'em all, it's only money, you'll make more!
