Customer Rating: Summary: title pretty much says it all Comment: actually a collaboration, david buchbinder, trumpeter and leader of the flying bulgar klezmer band and hilario duran, pianist and band leader. the first track, lailadance, which pretty much sets the tone for the tracks that follow, is a back and forth of klezmer and cuban mambo very much like a keystone comedy chase. and i mention keystone comedy because buchbinder's playing is so similar to dave douglas' playing, particularly on douglas' keystone recording. hilario duran is a pianist in his own right, smoothly at work with the percussion and brass. clarinets and saxophones are played by quinsin nachoff out of canada, who brings his appreciation of tango master, astor piazzolla, to this job. good hip shaking music.
this is another recording from john zorn's tzadik label.
