Customer Rating: Summary: The seller was very quick. Comment: I recieved this item in a few days. I would recommend this seller to everyone.
Customer Rating: Summary: Have Been a Fan for Years Comment: The artist in my opinion is so under rated in some areas. I can say Rahsaan Patterson to some and they say who is that. This CD is good and there are a few cuts that still need to grow on me. But his usual style is on there in several cuts. And that will never go away; his style.
Customer Rating: Summary: LOVE IT!! Comment: Mr Patterson, twisted it up on this one..he could have just been the same ole, same ole..but he took it to another level. Bravo my friend I am riding this cloud with you...keep it coming!
I will say if you are a fan, and were looking for the same stuff..you may be a little put off...but don't be too quick to judge...put it in and take the journey with him..when it's all said and done you will be pleased!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Grown Folks Music .... LOL Comment: This is straight up old skool neo-soul. If a genre this young can have an old skool. The beats are funky enough to nod to but you can still have a conversation over it if necessary. Think smoky lounge good wine and friends.
I think some of the disappointed purchasers may not have heard this cd over the right sound system. The track samples do it no justice.
Customer Rating: Summary: He must have been on "wines and spirits" when recording this. Horrible album. 1 1/2 stars Comment: I am so puzzled. So befuddled. So confused. Rahsaan Patterson is easily one of my favorite musicians and one of the most talented singers of our time. His first three efforts, "Rahsaan Patterson", "Love in Stereo", and "After Hours" are all decent works, but what in the world is going on with this album? This is, by far, some of the worst material I have heard in a long time. The arrangement of the beats are horrible, the lyrics are bad, and the flow of the album sucks, too. The only thing that was a slight saving grace was the fact that his vocal delivery is good and there are two or three decent efforts. The vast majority of this album is not good, though.
It's so very important that the first song on an album is decent because, of course, it sets the tone for the rest of the album. The song which opens this album is entitled "Cloud 9." Sounds like a happy title for a good song, doesn't it? To my disgust, the production caused me to cringe and so did the melody. Ok, ok, so sometimes artists slip up and the opening track bombs, but they redeem themselves on the second track. Not here. He continues into his downward spiral with the awful "Delirium-Comes and Goes." The production is all over the place and the lyrics and hook are bad. "Stop Breaking My Heart" is a nice song. I enjoyed it; it's actually classic Rahsaan. Thank goodness he gave me something I enjoyed on this album. The guitar, piano and percussion on this song help to make it a great one. Also, the hook and lyrics are nice. "Feels Good" is also nice. However, it sounds like Trina Broussard's song, "These Are the Days" in some places.
I can't even recommend this album to fans of Rahsaan because there isn't enough quality within this album. I would suggest you all continue to revel in the greatness of his first three efforts.
Mikeisha's Top 5
1. "Feels Good"
2. "Stop Breaking My Heart"
3. "Higher Love"
4. "No Danger"
5. "Oh Lord, Take Me Back"

Wines & Spirits showcases the evolution of an artist who crosses borders without fear. Nearly three years in the making, Wines & Spirits confirms why Rahsaan Patterson has influenced everyone from Van Hunt to Brandy. From the fresh alternative dance beats of Delirium , to the retro-gospel shades of Oh Lord , to the infectious joy of Higher Love , Wines & Spirits is a revelation of new soul, and Rahsaan s testament of change, growth and human experience.
