Summary: Cada que... is the best song
Comment: I don't understand what they are saying, but when i was in mexico last month i heard "Cada que..." about 14 times (radio, tv, drivers car, restaurant, etc). I liked it.
Then while in Texas last week, i heard it another 5 times.. so i gave in and bought the CD.
I'm not a huge fan of pop music, so the CD overall is Good/OK, but there's something about Cada que that i really like.. i love that song...

Summary: For the younger crowd
Comment: To be honest, we were a little disappointed with this album. We have been Belanova fans since their CD "Cocktail". Even though their sound changed some between "Cocktail" and "Dulce Beat", we still enjoyed all of their music and appreciated the last album. We bought "Fantasia Pop" because we really liked the single "Baila Mi Corazon". Amina was mostly hoping to hear some of the wistful lyrics with imaginative descriptions of clouds, navigating the stars... etc. that were common on "Dulce Beat". It's called "Pop Fantasy", right?
Well, the songwriting has definitely taken a turn, as the lyrics on most of the songs are unimaginative or sound like a rehashing of past songs. This album definitely sounds a lot more commercial. We feel like Belanova's creativity has been suffocated. Don't get us wrong, we are big pop fans, but the songs on this album were clearly aimed at the younger crowd of listeners who Belanova began to draw in since their last album, "Dulce Beat" and the single they released in Spanish for Disney's hit "High School Musical". On the other hand, it is an album that you could listen to mindlessly and hum along while working out or driving in the car. We would recommend it for younger kids ages 11-15, people who just want a fun pop album, or people who don't understand Spanish and don't care about lyrics. We wouldn't recommend it for people to try to listen to the songs thoughtfully, and we definitely wouldn't recommend it to people who like Belanova mostly because of "Cocktail".
Pros: Very catchy songs, Denise's pretty voice, upbeat sound
Cons: Lyrics are mediocre, the vocal range is extremely limited, song length is limited (entire album is less than 35 minutes)

1. Baila Mi Corazon (5/5) Upbeat Electropop. This song has an excellent beat, melody and is very catchy. This is the single that got Amina to buy the album. "En la ruleta del amor, hay que ganar/ no importa lo que piensen y opinen lo demas/ porque lo que me haces sentir me hace volar/ Baila mi corazon, baila mi corazon/ baila para los dos/ se que es amor..." ENGLISH: "In the roulette of love, you have to win/ It doesn't matter what other people think/ Because what you make me feel makes me fly/ My heart dances, my heart dances/ it dances for both of us/ I know it's love..." Good song.
2. One, Two, Three, GO! (2/5) Very pop sound, with a lot of energy. This song is cheesy. First of all, one thing that irks us is that they have this simple English phrase repeated OVER and OVER throughout the entire song. This habit of the middle/upperclass Mexican youth of appropriating American phrases and overusing them to death is like fingernails on a chalkboard for the Sisters Garcia, so it might just be a personal thing. We will warn that the song is very very catchy and will get stuck in your head easily. The tune is good, but the songwriting is BAAAAAD. The lyrics are horribly unimaginative and, as one reviewer we saw on iTunes put it, recalls a little bit of Avril Lavigne (who we don't like at all). "Oye niño no tengas miedo/ no lo entiendes se lo que quiero/ oye niño tú serás mio/ sabes bien que solo te quiero a ti" ENGLISH: "Hey boy don't be afraid/ don't you understand I know what I want/ hey boy you will be mine/ you know well I only love/want you." BLEH! Oh yeah, and "One, Two, Three, GO!" (shouted five million times throughout the song)
3. Por Esta Vez (3/5) Electropop Ballad. This is a calm, slow, love song. It's pretty enjoyable and a welcome change from the last track on the album. Lyrics are boring, typical boy-meets-girl love story. "Por esta vez/ puede ser de verdad/ podría ser real/ por esta vez no tengo que perder/ no hay nada que temer" ENGLISH: "This time/ it can be true/ it could be real/ this time I don't have to lose/ there's nothing to fear" Short song, bland lyrics.
4. Rockstar (3/5) Upbeat melody, cloying vocals. This song is about a girl who is obsessed with a rockstar, and this is her song professing her love to him. This is definitely for the younger crowd, and also recalls a theme by Avril. The moaning of the song is kind of annoying, but again, the song is kind of infectious. The chorus has a good melody but the whole premise of the song is kinda dumb. "Yo se que solo soy una chica/ que te ve todo el tiempo en television/ eres tan dificil de alcanzar, un sueño/ eres mi canción para soñar/ te quiero rockstar" ENGLISH: "I know I'm just a girl/ who sees you all the time in TV/ you are so difficult to reach, a dream/ you are my song to dream/ i love you rockstar". Blech again. Even 13 year old April thinks so!!
5. Paso el Tiempo (4/5) Another slow song. Everyone says this is a continuation of "Niño" from "Dulce Beat". We like "Niño" a lot better but this song isn't that bad. This song is saying that she's sorry for saying goodbye to the guy in the last album and she made a mistake. It's a calm song, lyrics are okay, but the beat is not infectious and the melody won't stay with you like the other songs on the album. "Quiero decirte que/ se que me equivoque/ aunque me duele perder/ lo siento si falle" ENGLISH: "I want to tell you/ I know I made a mistake/ although it hurts me to lose/ I'm sorry I failed"
6. Vestida de Azul (4/5) We like the direction of this song, but the cliche of walking by the beach could have been replaced with something more imaginative. It is still a good, calming song but with a nice beat and a simple chorus. "Cerrare los ojos bien/ Pedire un deseo/ Y al abrirlo se hara realidad/ Si tu estas aqui/ Solo quiero caminar por la orilla del mar/ vestida de azul/ y quiero que estes tú" ENGLISH: "I'll close my eyes good/ I'll make a wish/ And when I open them it will come true/ If you are here/ I just want to walk on the shore of the beach/ dressed in blue/ and I want you to be there" A song for little girls laying on their beds dreaming of little boys :)
7. Cada Que (3/5) All our friends love this song but we just don't enjoy it that much. It's just a slow song about failed love, nothing special in my opinion. The lyrics are okay on this song but we don't know, it just doesn't capture our attention. "Y cada que pienso en ti/ se enciende mi corazon/ y nada es mas triste que hoy/ hablar de ti..." ENGLISH: "And every time I think about you/ my heart is set on fire/ and nothing is sadder than today/ talking about you..." A song for lovesick puppies.
8. Aún (5/5) We really love this song. Although we have to admit, the first time we played the album and heard her stretching out the word "aún" we thought she was howling like a wolf. This is a nice song, but it does sound a little similar to some of the other songs. The "howling" makes it stand out. The lyrics are good and it is one you can close your eyes and kind of travel with. "Creo en las adas/ volando en mis fantasias/ porque en mi historia busco aún el final/ aún, aún seguiré buscando..." ENGLISH: "I believe in fairies/ flying in my fantasies/ because in my story I'm still searching for the end/ still, still I'll keep searching..." Good song for dreamers.
9. Bye Bye (4/5) Very poppy song, and at 2 min 24 seconds, the shortest one on the album. It has a very quick, catchy tune. The "bye bye" refrain doesn't annoy us like track 2 because this Anglicism has been so thoroughly integrated into Spanish (at least Mexican Spanish) that it's not really like a foreign phrase. Anyway, it's a good "leaving you" song. This type of tune allows for cliched lyrics, we think. "Solo entiende lo que digo/ ya no busques nada conmigo/ solo entiende lo que digo/ yo nunca más quiero nada contigo/ las cosas no son así/ amor, Bye Bye" ENGLISH: "Just understand what I tell you/ don't look for anything with me anymore/ just understand what I tell you/ I never again want anything with you/ things aren't like that/ love, bye bye"
10. Toma Mi Mano (5/5) Slow, sweet song for a friend or loved one who is going through a hard time. We like the melody and the message. "Sé que tu en mi lugar/ lo harias tambien/ sin pensarlo/ sé que duele caer/ y hoy estoy aqui para ti/ como ayer como hoy/ sabes que puedes buscarme" ENGLISH: "I know that you, in my place/ would do the same/ without thinking/ I know it hurts to fall/ and today I am here for you/ like yesterday like today/ you know you can look for me". The Sisters Garcia would like to dedicate this song to each other.
11. Dulce Fantasia (3/5) Another song about love lost, but we think it's too short. Although the song is nice it should have been drawn out a bit more, maybe an extra verse or two or at least a bridge. "Ven y dime si en verdad/ fue culpa de los dos/ o solo fue una dulce fantasia/ ven y dime si en verdad/ todo esto fue un error/ o solo fue una dulce fantasia" ENGLISH: "Come and tell me if really/ it was both of our faults/ or it was just a sweet fantasy/ come and tell me if really/ this was all a mistake/ or it was just a sweet fantasy"

Summary: Amazing what you hear when you stop and listen...
Comment: While on vacation in Cancun, I happened to walk into a shop at Mercado 28 and hear this amazing song. I stopped and listen to the whole song and asked the shop owner, "Who is this band?" She showed me the disc, Belanova's "Fantasia Pop" and the song was "Baila Mi Corazón"
I've always been a fan of the Remixland Series and this had a beat I couldn't resist!
I'm sorry to say that I don't know Spanish so I'm at a loss for the lyrics. But that hasn't stopped me from enjoying the great voice of Denisse Guerrero.

Summary: dulce para su cuerpo
Comment: This album is only 34 minutes long but it makes the most of it. It starts off with "Baila Mi Corazon" (an MTV3s video) and gets you hooked from there on. The songs vary from ballads, rock and pop but all with an electronica dance edge. I cant help but smile and feel happy when I listen to this album. That's why I like this album. "Dulce Beat" is good but start off with this one. Disfrutete!

Summary: Brilliant Pop Music
Comment: For those who want it in a nutshell: This album is awesome from begining to end. I think I can call myself a pop conosiure (if i spelled that right, haha). This music makes me feel good. I wouln't say it is the most groud-breaking album I've ever heard (i'm still not over Bjork's Vespertine, Medulla, and Homogenic). But, the music is crisp, upbeat, and well constructed. In a world with such turmoil, thank god that there are bands like belanova to make us feel good. Oh, and Denise's voice is great, that screaming that someone complained about...that's called emotion in the music. If you want no screaming, please see Enya.
