Comment: I have been hearing his song "La Derrota" for a couple of weeks now and finally they said who the singer is and I wasn't surprised to hear that it was Vicente Fernandez. This song has to be one of the most powerful and passionate songs Vicente has ever sung. Every time that I listen to it, it reminds me of how beautiful my home town is in Michoacán and how wonderful Mexico is. If anyone wants to hear the heart of Mexico, it's in his songs and in this album. Every time he sings, I fall deeper and deeper in love with my country. Viva Mexico! Customer Rating: Summary: Chente Por Siempre Comment: I have been a fan for years from listening with my DAD as a child to my adult years Vicente gets better and better as the years go by. I love every song he has written and than some. If you don't have this CD get it now it's great! Customer Rating: Summary: Vicente... still king of the rancheras Comment: It says alot about Don Fernandez that he still is the best the ranchera world has to offer even though he's been around for decades. His voice is still strong, the arrangements are just right, the lyrics are beautiful, and the songwriting is superb (thanks to Joan Sebastian). First ranchera album i've purchased in years. They haven't been particularly great this decade. Thank you Vicente and Joan for getting me to listen to it again. Customer Rating: Summary: The great songs are great, the rest are still better than average. Comment: I haven't listened to mexican music in a while, much less ranchera but I, like most Mexicans, know and love alot of Vicente songs and consider him among Mexico's national treasures. This album got me back to listening to Mexican music again since I was hooked when I first heard the album (track 2). I also just learned that Joan Sebastian is responsible for writing all the tracks on this wonderful album. It's a fantastic album with wonderful lyrics (which makes or breaks a song for me) and once sung with Chente's wonderful voice, the album becomes irresistible. If Chente worked with Joan on the rest of his albums, I'd get them all. A second choice would have to be Marco Antonio Solis, also capable of writing in any genre if he feels like it. I haven't missed an album since "Mi Fantasia". Anyways, below are my fav 4 for now. - Top 4: - A Quien Vas a Amar Mas Que a Mi - "No vas hallar al ser maravilloso al ser perfecto, que rebase este amor y que en efecto, te entregue todo y mas de lo que di" OH MY GOD! Wonderful - Niña Hechicera - Great tempo and Vicente makes you want to sing along. - Para Siempre - Nice and slow guitar star with Chente singing: "Vale mas un buen amor, que mil costales de oro..." How true. - Millon De Primaveras - Have someone in your past you just can't get over? This song is for you. Here is what else I listen to when not Chente (Como Me Haces Falta is an example of great lyrics, at least for me, on this Bukis album): A Donde Vas Mi Fantasia Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent!! Comment: If you enjoy "ranchera" music with a touch of mariachi and ballads, you will really enjoy this CD. This CD will prove to the world that Don Chente is not ready to retire.
