Summary: More godlike trance meets house
Comment: John Digweed's transitions series may be one of the best dance series of all time. Labelled as house it is still some of the best trance out there. Second up, this is a way yonder cosmically sized better than Transitions Vol. 2, and that's a hard act to beat. This is one of the best progressive house albums of all time. Digweed has found a niche in his talents and is expanding it beyond all expectations.

After Fabric 20, Digweed went into experimental phase with Vol 1, discovered something good, delivered on the epic Vol. 2 before breaking barriers with Vol. 3. Transitions Vol. 3 isn't just a great CD follow-up to Vol. 2, he has reinvented a whole new sound for house music and may be Digweed's best album to date if not one of the best house hybrid albums you could own. This album is yet another work of art and demands the attention of every dance lover.

And for those who don't like House... well Digweed has gone and made you like it. Get this album now.

Summary: Back in the abyss - Excellent!
Comment: Whether you consider this release minimal or the darker side of progressive house, it sure reminds me of circa 2001 Digweed when he was pumping out massive dark tunes (i.e., his short-lived "Black" sublabel under Bedrock). If you're a long-time Digweed fan and have been to his shows, just think back to the time you were sitting in a dark corner somewhere, near the loudspeakers, had your eyes closed, looking down, bobbing your head, and just soaking in all the abyssimal tunes with all your body (and no, you did not have to be high!). Give this album an honest listen and you'll be in a similar place. If you prefer the energy of a liveset, well, you can go download his livesets or you can get a plug-in to popular players like Winamp to increase the tempo. Just like how Digweed edits the tracks, as a listener, you have the freedom to listen to it any way you please. If you're just getting into EDM, then you can't go wrong with GU013 Ibiza - Sasha and GU019 LA - John Digweed.

Summary: Lost in Transitions
Comment: This is one album that i would recommend to every Digweed fan out there as well as the newcomer. I've been a Digweed fanatic for years now. I know his tunes through and through and all i have to say it that it's getting better and better. I recall one night back at club Womb in Shibuya-Tokyo, Japan where John was spinning the mix most of the night. You know that special sound that you can only hear at the club. The light ambience you get because of the large space around you. Don't forget the progressive sounds as well. I can tell you that when you listen to this album and close your eyes, it's like you're right there on the dance floor. I highly recommend this album. It won't let you down!

Summary: An amazing journey
Comment: An amazing journey on this cd. Flowing between a deep percussion core and an outer spacey feeling. The mixing is good, well coordinated and a smooth run from tune to tune. The long mixes are excellently carved. A well thought out production. Anyone with an ear for sound will hear this is top class.

Summary: It's a trick of hand
Comment: It is somewhat unusual to get 20 tracks in one CD without noticing that there are actually 20 tracks in one CD, of course only an experienced trickster - like Diggers - can pull off such a thing. Such slight of hand not only requires talent, but intelligence too.
John definitely knows his music, but to place them so cohesively together as if they were deliberately composed in order to be mixed in the same fashion as found in T3 is unbelievable or rather mind boggling.

Introducing Sasha's Coma as the beginning track sets the mood early for what is to come, which is more of the good stuff. I like everything about "Coma" but I especially like how it comes back in the 16th second of track 2 for exactly two seconds flashing you with the sweet nectar of itself in time when you thought it was over. I know it's only two seconds, but it's worth its time in gold (don't ask me how).

The general feel of the composition is eerie, and although not dark in the sense of (GU Hong Kong) dark, it is definitely darkish in its electro taste. That by itself is a welcome change from the regular electro/minimalism we have been listening to for the past couple of years. To save you on all of the mumbo jumbo, there is really nothing to say that has not been said before in other reviews, so I will not repeat the praise. However, I do have to say this about Diggers third transitions installation in comparison to (transitions1 & 2): 3 is better that 2 but not better than 1.

Enjoy in a dark room with your favorite choice of poison.
