Customer Rating: Summary: Some hard Christian metal Comment: Great CD! It took some getting used to as it's harder Christian rock than I'm used to, but I love it nonetheless! Disciple is an awesome band and anyone who likes hard rock will love it! It just goes to show that Christian music doesn't have to be bland, it can be rockin too!
Customer Rating: Summary: Disciple Hits the Nail RIGHT On The Head Comment: WOW. I've long been skeptical of Disciples merits. (Although, I admit, I had only heard songs in the vein of "Backstabber.") After hearing their songs "After the World" and "Things Left Unsaid" my mind was changed. I am so satisfied with this album. Every song is simply awesome and ranges from metal/screamo to delicate soft rock, all with a positive message of hope and Christianity.
Definitely one to buy for lovers of excellent Christian metal.
PS
These guys say Jesus and quote the Bible. YEAH!
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Album Comment: The special edition includes all the songs from the original Scars Remain plus "Things Left Unsaid" and 4 acoustic versions of songs on the album. Overall the album is excellent.
One of the reasons I enjoy this band is the emotion that the songs are performed with. The frustration, hurt, confusion, and regret involved with seeing a loved one on life support can really be felt in "Things Left Unsaid".
Customer Rating: Summary: Comercial Compromise Comment: Don't get me wrong I love Disciple, I even really like this album. But this is NOT their best work! They seem to have gotten away from the edgy Boldness in their lyrics that made them great. Musically it is toned down a little too. It has had great radio success with the song "after the world", and thats what I mean by the compromise. They are more radio friendly, and that is never a good thing for a band that is famous for making a difference! It is a little less BOLD, and a little Milder than their previous releases. By God, This Might Sting a Little, and Back Again are by far better albums.
Customer Rating: Summary: Scars Remain! Comment: Disciple's best work to-date! With 12 solid tracks(including Scars Remain & Regime Change) this Special Edition also features 4 acoustic versios of 'Love Hate', 'After the World', 'My Hell', and 'Things Left Unsaid' - as well as Video clips of 'Scars Remain' & 'After the world' on the second DVD disk.
A unique musical feel, combined with meaningfull lyrics give Disciple the edge, as can be seen throughout this album.
All in all, a highly recommended buy for any true Disciple fan & if you haven't heard these guys, it's a great album to try out.
