Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Nice! Comment: I first heard of these guys when I checked out Gwen Stacy. My brother bought plagues and I checked it out. It is amazing. Some of the songs sound the same at points, but there are parts that stand out in each song whether it be a cool piano part or the vocals. Think of them as like a really heavy chiodos. Sweet riffs, sweet screams, sweet vocals. Nough Said. Customer Rating: Summary: can this be followed up? Comment: This is absolutely the most intense CD I have ever heard from any band in my entire life! I can't even imagine what their third CD will be like! Customer Rating: Summary: Just Amazingly GREAT. Comment: I got the leak of this CD 3 weeks before it came out and was probably expecting it to not be as good as their first album. Man, was I wrong. This is probably one of the best overall albums I've ever heard in my life. Every single track is strong and unrelenting. I have listened to this album from start to finish maybe over 150 times already in just a month. This CD is everything you'd want in a Metalcore/Hardcore band. Breakdowns galore but still keeps it pretty and beautiful with the clean singing once in awhile. Gorgeous lyrics, it makes this band better knowing they aren't living the Drugs/Sex/Rock&Roll lifestyle either. That doesn't mean you have to have those values just to listen to this. This is a CD that scene kids AND musical elitists can enjoy. Pure Gold. Their last album was sub-par to say the least but on their latest release Plagues, The Devil Wears Prada unleashes a fury that is both brutal and beautiful and at the same time showing talent and originality rarely seen anymore in this genre that is quickly becoming stale. Editorial Reviews: The Devil Wears Prada, from Dayton Ohio, has had quite a year. One of the breakout bands of 2006. Selling more than 30,000 units of their debut record Dear love: a beautiful discord. Plagues, their intense sophomore record will surely not disappoint but rather propel the band to new heights. TDWP is gifted musically, they seamlessly intertwine technical metal and hardcore with melodic overtones. Super catchy and always heavy, they play mind blowing riffs that will crush cars.
