Spotlight customer reviews:

Customer Rating: Summary: There's Better Comment: This is a series that is going downhill fast. Hotel Costes has Lostus. Repetition and as one reviewer said an utter lack of the sexy vibe that made this collection great. Once perfect for a cocktail party or a night of naked pursuits this collection is now well just uninteresting. I highly recommend the Erotic Lounge series instead.
Customer Rating: Summary: 2-3 Stars. As owner of all the Hotel Costes, what a dissapointment... Comment: Quite simply put here are my ratings of the 14 songs (scale out of 5 stars):
TRACK:
1) 3.5 (Previously owned on another chill CD)
2) 3
3) 3
4) 4
5) 4.5
6) 2.5
7) 2.5
8) 1.75
9) 3
10) 2.75
11) 2.75
12) 1.25
13) 5
14) 2
So essentially, there were only 3 tracks I really liked: 4, 5, and 13. "Fleur Blanche" is track 13, the best song on the CD. Other than that "Save Me Tonight" was decent. None of the other songs were even remotely close to being impressive or moving... Overall, it was a big dissapointment as noted above...
Customer Rating: Summary: Yawn... Comment: I have to agree with other reviews that are 'negative'. This is not the best of Stephane and I'm very surprised by it. Can't say I would tell someone that they should purchase it. Not good compared to the earlier cds.
Customer Rating: Summary: Open your ears Comment: I own all previous (9) Costes CDs and was unsure whether to buy this CD after reading negative reviews. Yes it is different from the other Costes but you wouldn't buy 10 CDs that sound the same. The Costes sound has evolved and this is another fine selection from Pompougnac. I suggest you listen to it without bias and open your ears, it really grows on you. Favourites would have to be Glamour girl and Fleur Blanche.
Customer Rating: Summary: Bleh Comment: Definitely not something you're going to like on the first listen. But after a while a few songs on this are catchy, but a couple of them... are just hideous! Where is the rhythm! On the other hand I really enjoyed Taxi to War, Sunday Drive and a few others.

Editorial Reviews:

The ''Côstes'' brand is forever linked with the ultimate in quality and is renowned with patrons as the home of luxury in Paris. After all, the overriding theme is ''all things in excess.'' This is French DJ/Artist Stéphane Pompougnac's tenth definitive set of the best tracks heard at France's premiere club, bar & cafe and serves as a ''tastemaker'' (read: trendsetting) CD for the rest of the world. His penchant for choosing the very best music for this series burns bright as he incorporates tracks on this outing from de-Phazz, Laid Back, Goloka, Louie Austen, Orsten, $olal, Angus & Julie Stone, Peder (ft. Anne Trolle), DJ Disse, Deep Dive Corp., Elijah (ft Neve), Pompougnac himself with good pal Charles Schillings, all topped off with Dutchman Benny Sings. Feel free to luxuriate with the sounds and splendor of the most relaxing place in Paris with the upper crust.
