Summary: Jerry Lee's the Man
Comment: I bought this DVD for my Dad for Father's Day. Isn't it funny how music from the 50's & 60's still sound so fresh, while a lot of today's music is stale after two weeks? Jerry Lee is a legend in any circle, his music is timeless and full of energy, he's a real rocker from back in the day. This DVD was recorded in 1986 and is a must have.

Comment: This 15-song set originally recorded in October of 1983 for PBS' "Austin City Limits" features the Killer at his best- mature, confident, and relaxed- mixing country, rock'n'roll, and gospel with an equal blend of grace and fire. Very little editing has taken place from the original broadcast with all the songs present and in their original sequence. The material, the band, the production, and Jerry Lee himself are all top-notch. Yes, "Last Man Standing" is great- but go back 20-plus years and watch the power of "Chantilly Lace" and "Boogie Woogie Country Man", the vivid "39 and Holding", and the wild "What'd I Say" and you'll get an excellent glimpse into what Jerry Lee, and his legacy, are all about.

Comment: Don't pay any attention to what Charlie says in a previous review, this a great dvd of Jerry Lee. The music is great, the performance is great, and the production and sound are first rate. If you like Jerry Lee Lewis, you have to have this dvd.

Summary: Jerry Lee at his entertaining best..!!
Comment: This DVD displays Jerry Lee doing what he does best...entertain. The selections are mostly his hits from early in his career. I would have preferred a better mix of his rocka-billy '50's with his contemporary country style of the '60's-'70's. If you love listening to his music, you'll love watching him play and sing his classics. If you are new to Jerry Lee's style, you will love taking a nostalgic trip back to the '50's and '60's with the 'Killer' himself.
