Customer Rating: Summary: Great Tween Music Comment: I am 37 years old, but I buy A LOT of music for my 11 year old niece. It is difficult to find music that is appropriate for that "tween" age group. I heard the "Potential Breakup Song" a long time ago and I was turned off by the over-processed voices on that track. Then I heard the song "Like Whoa" from the movie "Minutemen" - I bought this CD because of that song.
I expected to only like the one song but after I listened to the entire CD I was shocked because I caught myself getting into the music. I actually bought myself a copy as well because it is really catchy and fun to listen to - it is purely pop - nothing too "groundbreaking" except for the fact that it fills a much needed void in music for teen pop. I even like to listen to it even when no kids are around -- I never thought I'd say that! Regarding the vocals, these girls have perfect voices for the type of music that they are singing -- there is no need to compare them to American Idol vocalists.
Customer Rating: Summary: So Freaking Catchy! Comment: I listened to Into the Rush when I downloaded the songs from the album onto my little sisters i pod. It was a really good album for a pair of 15 and 17 year olds. Now, with Insomniatic, Aly and AJ are back with another album - only this ones much catchier and packs more punch. It's really fun to listen to - even if you're not usually into teen pop.
Customer Rating: Summary: Aly & AJ are true and unique musical talents! Comment: Aly & AJ definitely up the ante and show more facets of their personalities and musical influences with this highly enjoyable follow-up to Into The Rush. The diversity of the songs is quite refreshing, veering from slightly electronica-tinged yet melodic pop rockers (Potential Breakup Song, Like Whoa) to anthemic melodic rockers that effectively get to the point (Bullseye, Insomniatic, Like It Or Leave It, If I Could Have You Back) to melancholy, introspective ballads (Blush, Silence, Tears (Tori Amos would be proud of this particular song)) to songs that have a little bit of this and a little bit of that thrown into the mix (the ones that I didn't mention). Open-minded music fans of any age whether you're 15, 25, 35, etc. can, and i'm sure, will appreciate the musical uniqueness and talent of these two musicians known as Aly & AJ. I guess they're currently working on yet another album slated for release towards the end of this year. May it be as excellent or even more so as Insomniatic.
Customer Rating: Summary: Aly and AJ: What's the deal anyway? Comment: Well I have listened to Aly and AJ before and in my honest opinion they are horrible. They can sing a little unlike Miley Cyrus who can't sing at all, but really the aren't as good as some American Idol contestants. What's the deal with these girls anyway? Are they twins? I used to think they were twins but they are just sisters. I am glad they are showing sisterly love, but they seem to have some creepy connection with one another. Weird! Their CD cover is just plain creepy. They look like witch/zombies. They also look sort of dead on the cover. Their song Potential Breakup Song is just plain negative. They are basically complaining about nothing and the beat sounds wrong too. In one line they say "he forgot my birthday my stupid birthday". I mean I don't always remember birthdays. I would personally not like to meet this insulting duo. They're other music delivers mixed messages and I do not really know where they are coming from or what in the world they are even trying to say! It is like some mysterious alien language. It is also pretty boring to see them preform on Disney Channel. At least they are not bad role models. I, in fact have never seen them do anything to really set and absolutely stellar example though, but whatever. Basically the music is just alright and you should spend your money on someone like Jordin Sparks or Carrie Underwood if you really want to hear good music.
Customer Rating: Summary: Aly & A.J. Rock Out Load Comment: I can't began to tell you how awesome this CD is. Aly and A.J. has some of the best songs and this is a wonderful follow up Cd for them. The songs on the album are of cousre the first one is Potenial Breakup Song which you already know is an awesome song.
The next song is called Bullseye which at first I didn't like but I grew to like though. It's actully a good song but I guess I just didn't pay much attention to it.
The next song is called Division. It's very awesome. The song is about the who the girl threw a party to celebrate her break up with her boyfriend and I thought that was so cool and funny.
The next song is Like It or Leave it and this is like one of the best songs on the album. It has an upbeat tempo and great lyrics.
YOu all know Like Whoa that's one great song.
Insomniatic is next and it's great but not the best on the album but great lyrics.
Silence is tied for first with three others. It's a slow song but if you listen to the song and understand it you'll love it!
If I Could Have You Back is one that's ties with first. It's up beat song that you could really rock out to.
Blush is a song that I'm still tring to get into. I it's a good song but I don't like it that much. It maybe just me but this song just doesn't get me like the other songs they make. It may just be the lyrics.
Flattery is an awesome song that you will love. It's saying don't flatter yourself just because you have my heart. You're not they only one I've ever loved. I think it's something that a lot of people can relate to.
I'm Here is the next song that is tied with first. I didn't like it at first but after I learned what the song was talking about and how cool it sound I loved it. In fact it maybe the second best song on the album.
The next is Chemicals React (Remix) Which really isn't much of a remix. If you listen to it you really won't hear much of a differents I still liked it though because It's just a great song.
The bonus track Careful With Words maybe the second best song because it has my two favorite lines in a song. one is Shoppers we are closing please go home, and the other one is I was so carefull I ran out of words.
ANd their you have it. To sum it just This CD is a must buy.

Teen titans Aly & AJ don't sound like Heart, the powerhouse sister act whose hall-of-famer footsteps they hope to follow in, but it doesn't feel like an exaggeration to say they have as much talent. With their flowing blond hair, cool clothes, and gift for hitting the hype machine at just the right fame-boosting angles, they could easily carve out a career on somebody else's lyrics and a lame-o delivery. But the sisters Michalka have a lot more integrity than that: If Insomniatic, goes to show the pop-buying world anything, it's that not all youth-targeted acts deserve their featherweight reputations. The title track rocks hard, "Bullseye" borrows a Replacements vibe, and opener "Potential Breakup Song" pumps in pleasingly synth-y rhythms and sweet-heat attitude. Slighter tracks, including "Silence" and "I'm Here," showcase a sympathetic ear for teenage romantic tribulations, but overall Insomniatic is not for the drowsy--Aly & AJ are doing musical No-Doz for a new generation, and they're doing it right.
