As the title suggests, Fancy Footwork is a de-luxe dance album. ZAPPish synth-bass licks and robo-party beats drive a non-stop flow of songs about...yes...dancing. But Chromeo are men of class who like to mix it up, so there are also songs about partyin', songs about datin', and of course, songs about bein' Chromeo.
Old school Chromeo fans-turned-haters will tell you that Fancy Footwork is too studiofied, and while it's true that it doesn't have the warmth and variety of the first album, the slick production works well with the dance-party theme, and makes Chromeo's campy cool vocal delivery all the cooler. That said, the duo aren't too cool to be silly, as proven by the outrageous album cover art, dating advice delivered through talk-boxes, and the Supertramptastic keyboard intro to "Momma's Boy".
Along with the first Junior Senior album, the second Hyperbubble Album, and the third Freezepop album, Fancy Footwork is another great batch of tunes to take along on road trips, as every song's a winner, and the pace never drags. Put on your shades and let the pimptastic beats bump along...

Comment: While the 1st album was good, this 2nd is where it is @. Soo fun of a listen! Can not wait to hear the deluxe with the additional remixes. Wished i could have seen them @ Bonnaroo. Check out their vidz on youTube!

Summary: The guy who give this album 1 star is a douch
Comment: If you like well written dance music that is catchy, simple but creative,and really funny... than this one's for you. I am a music student at FSU and I listen to everything from Bach and Brahms to Miles and Coltrane to modern hip hop and everything inbetween, except country music. I just can't get into it. Anyway, this is one of my new favorite albums, it hasn't left my cd player for over a week. If you really despised a lot of the corny dance music that came out in the 80's, you might not like this, but the difference between these guys and 80's music is that in the 80's, people would put out unbelieveably corny records and be completely serious about them, these guys have a real sense of humor and know how to make tunes just cheesy enough to be awesome.

Comment: Great album - bravo - but honestly the cover art gets 5 stars and the music gets 3 and a half so I gave it 4. I played CHROMEO in detroit recently and the krowd freaked. Nice work for Canadian boys. The Canadians rule the post electrodisco sound these days. I call it postelektropunkdisco. I would recommend MSTRKRFT, DATA ROCK, if you do not know them, and INFLAGRANTI. It is about time - the sixties was Young and Mitchell (yawn and yawn again), the seventies was BTO, Guess Who, Max Webster and Carol Pope (I mixed max websster with chromeo), the eighties was Jane Siberry (sucks) and Bruce Cockburn (a friend) , the nineties was recession and selene (gag) Dionne, and now the Canadians are back. Bravo - ok I am half Canuck. Chromeo - send me some remixes.

Comment: If you listen to it for a good laugh or a good beat, you can't help but like Chromeo's new release. I don't even remember how I heard about these guys but I'm sure glad I did.
