Summary: That's Paul Taylor, Ladies' Choice!!!
Comment: My first Paul Taylor CD was On The Horn from the 90's. I loved it. Once I had a few friends over to the house. We sat on the deck in the "cool of the evening" sipping wine & drinking Michelob's while I played Paul Taylor's On the Horn in the background. Before everyone departed they all wanted to know what CD I was playing. By the end of the next week all 3 couples had purchase there own copy of On The Horn. I love it when I turn someone on to good music... Fast forward about 10 years, Paul is still making good music. Ladies' Choice is another stellar project from this talented musician. I haven't hit the skip button once while listening to this CD. Currently I'm diggin' the title cut, & feeling Long Distance Relationship which features Terry Dexter on vocals. Now, I'm sitting on my deck with a few million Amazon friends with a glass of port and a good stogie. "What CD is that?" you asked. "It's Ladies' Choice by Paul Taylor."

Comment: This is my first Paul Taylor album and i am so in love. I bought this CD when it first came out and i just cannot get enough. I love both of Regina's songs but right now I am really into Terry Dexter's song. I have to buy this CD again to put in my truck.

Comment: I'm not a Lady, but its a great album, Paul's style is just so sweet and distinctive, and the vocals as they alternate, fit in with the whole beautifull presentation

Editorial Reviews:

In fact, four ladies have chosen to sing on have chosen to sing on Ladies' Choice, smooth jazz saxist Paul Taylor's latest. In order of appearance, they are LaToya London, Regina Belle, Terry Dexter, and Belle again. It makes sense that Belle gets two features: Her pop-soulful vocals bring a kind of Anita Baker intensity to the proceedings. On "How Did You Know" and "Open Your Eyes," both of which she co-wrote with the album's hitmaking producer, keyboardist Barry Eastmond (who has worked with Baker), she manages the feat of adding background vocals that contrast nicely with the lead ones. There's nothing particularly distinctive about Taylor's silky sound on alto and soprano, but the doubled-horn effects provide pop and he comes up with some distinctive effects on Vocoder. Guitarist Phil Hamilton's romantic wah-wah effects also deserve mention. --Lloyd Sachs
