Customer Rating: Summary: They Inspired A Wave Of Comebacks Comment: Take That were once one of the greatest boybands in the world and their split in 1996 really sent the female fans into turmoil as they tried to come to terms with them no longer being a 4 or 5 piece. Before officially reforming they did try to get together as a 5 piece but news was reported that Robbie had turned the offer down because he felt he was too big of a star to go back to Take That. When you talk about bad decisions you should talk about Robbie Williams turning down the offer to help reform Take That, as they did what nobody saw coming and they took the UK by storm once again and repeated the magic that they once had. This time around they had a maturity that wasn't recognisable from their original days when they were dancing around in the camp manner that they became known for.
Mark Owen & Gary Barlow are still the front runners of the group; Mark as only a couple of years before had won the TV Reality show Celebrity Big Brother and Gary for his quite short but extremely successful solo career. Howard Donald & Jason Orange had also returned to the group and presented their own sense of individuality and maturity to the group.
The Debut single for the album, Patience flew to number one and the tickets for their reunion tour sold out in a matter of hours for all dates and venues. This album was something that inspired a tidal wave of groups reforming, they even inspired the Spice Girls to reform. This album was slated to be their only album and the tour was originally going to be a one off, but due to the success of the album and the tour they're still together and recording a new album.
Patience
Shine
Are easily the best songs/singles from this album and they're what made this album special and what inspired a wave of fans to re-unite and jump right back on the Take That bandwagon.
Customer Rating: Summary: I Love This CD Comment: After watching the film "Stardust" and listening to THE song "Rule the World" by the Group called "Take That" during the film's credits, I fell in love with this song and Group!! I had never heard of this group or song before, but went on to purchase both of these CD's "Beautiful World" and "Rule The World". All the songs are great and in my opinion, should ALL be number one hits. I just wonder why I haven't heard of them before, why they are not played on US radio stations, and why not so well known here. I think they would be a big hit here if they toured in the US and our radio stations played them.
Customer Rating: Summary: If you like music, buy this! Comment: I don't know much about these guys. I read they're a 'boy band'. OK.? I've never liked a 'boy band'. This is great music tho. Period. I play music, and the first thing I had to do is figure out 'Wooden Boat' on guitar IMMEDIATELY!!! Whatta great song. Whatta great album. I'm from Middle America and haven't heard of these guys before... this is my wake up call, and I think the rest of the States could use this too. I heard the finale song on 'Stardust' and since I'm not only hooked, but this is my current favorite. Also, since I 'try' to write music, I'm Jealous!
Well crafted songwriting.... Great work! This CD I would recommend to my 5yr old daughter or my parents, or anybody... it's that good.
Customer Rating: Summary: More than worth the wait Comment: It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since Take That's last cd. But you wouldnt know its been that long after a listen or two to Beautiful World. Its like the guys never left and are much stronger on this release than any other. With all the band members not only writing on various songs but also singing lead vocals on them as well. It brings out a new part of Take That we've been all dying for. Whether fan or not its hard to ignore a cd that plays great from song 1 to the last song.
But this one does just that. With tracks such as:
What You Believe
I'd Wait For Life
Shine
Hold On
Beautiful World
Reach Out (excellent opening)
Patience (one of fav by them)
Ain't No Sense In Love
Wooden Boat
i know i almost listed the whole cd, but its really that impressive and deserves all the attention that it gets now and in the future.
I'm looking forward to their next release as well which i just found out about earlier..i'll be buying more of Take That's music for years to come..excellent song writing, vocals and production. Other music artists could learn a thing or two from them.
Customer Rating: Summary: Hopefully, they are back for good Comment: I bought their comeback cd a couple of months ago and has been listening to it at least once a day. This cd has a permanent cd slot in my car. Can't say there's one song that I don't like. Patience is my favorite. Too bad this cd does not get any airplay time in any U.S. radio stations (tried requesting a song once but unfortunately the station does not have this cd). Well... hopefully, things will change once their song "Rule The World" gets nominated at the Oscars. The special edition cd has an extra song called "Butterfly" - which was sang wonderfully by Gary Barlow (a very talented songwriter in my opinion)

It's been a long ten years since Take That disbanded. Their recent reformation and world tour offered overwhelming evidence that, far from being forgotten, the post-Robbie quartet can still command hysterical amounts of goodwill and adoration. Beautiful World illustrates why this is so. Written in conjunction with songwriter/producer John Shanks (Ashlee Simpson, Anastacia, Alanis Morissette), the album is crammed full with the songwriting magic that made their rise to fame so meteoric in the first place. Far from being an exercise in nostalgia, the project moves the band in a slightly new direction. The four come across as more mature, more democratic (all members share songwriting credits on the album, rather than just Barlow), and even more adept at making epic pop that somehow avoids the cheese factor. Lead single "Patience" is a perfect example of how powerful and accessible their songs can be. It'd be a good contender for the album's peak moment if the rest of the tracks weren't so damn good too. With traditional Take That style songs (the immediately likeable "Reach Out", the brimming "Like I Never Loved You At All"), nicely punctuated up by incongruous outings like Jason Orange's folkish "Wooden Boat" and Mark's upbeat, Beatles-esque "Shine", Beautiful World sets a whole new standard for a band previously known more for their singles than their long-players.--Danny McKenna
