Customer Rating: Summary: Now, here's some GOOD stuff from the port of Miami Comment: I came across Pitbull's 2004 album M.I.A.M.I. by accident because I was really looking for something else, but I listened to it and I was impressed. But his latest album, El Mariel, is even better.
Keep in mind, though; despite the reggaeton movement that has taken place over the past two years or so, Pitbull is simply a "standard" rap artist that has some Latin-inspired beats (so if you think this is a bad reggaeton album, check yo'self). But there are plenty of highlights, like "Jealouso", "Rock Bottom" and "Come See Me". Even the song with Wyclef ("Jungle Fever") works.
Pit also does a good job when he gets introspective on us. "Miami Ish" successfully incorporates serious subject matter into a party song (something that is not easy to do), but tracks like "Raindrops" and "Blood Is Thicker Than Water" puts the partying aside and gives way to some eye-opening lyricism. There are also good tributes to where he was raised, like "Born N Raised" (which goes without saying) and the aforementioned "Miami Ish".
When Pit shoots for shake-that-a** songs, though, he hits ("Bojangles") and misses ("Ay Chico"). And I definitely wouldn't lose sleep if "Fuego" or especially "Hey You Girl" weren't on here. But three mistakes out of twenty-one are no cause for alarm, so do yourself a favor and take a trip to El Mariel.

Customer Rating: Summary: El Mariel: Pitbull's Masterpiece Comment: I truly believe this has to be one of Pitbull's greatest album, if not the best one. His songs range from so many different genres, such as the old school feel to "Fuego" or "Hey, You Girl", or the slow jam "Dime". There are also some really good 'hype' songs, such as "Ay Chico" and "Be Quiet". All in all, I recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of hip-hop, rap, or Pitbull.
Customer Rating: Summary: Pitbull Still On Fire! Comment: I loved this cd. Its classic Pitbull music, yet he shows lots of growth as an artist on this album. He stepped up his rhyme skills alot since his last cd. He has better beats here and he expanded the content of his songs. Don't worry, there is still classic Pitbull on the album. He still: reps Miami and his Cuban heritage to the fullest, maintains his gangsta persona, and shows the ladies lots of love. Overall, this is a must have for any Pitbull or rap fan in general. Hot Tracks: Que Tu Sabes D'Eso, Rock Bottom, Raindrops
Customer Rating: Summary: Pitbull - El Mariel Comment: Pitbull's (A.K.A. Armando Christian Pérez) third album is "El Mariel" (2006) a twenty-one track release which features guest appearances from Fat Joe, Sinful, Bun B, Cubo, Redd Eyez, Wyclef, Oobie, Anjuli Stars, DJ Khaled Vybz Kartel, Ken-Y, Lil Jon, Ying Yang Twins, Trick Daddy & Rick Ross. This release is made up mostly of party/dance Reggaeton track's and like a previous reviewer mentioned is not political (outside of intro/outro). Pitbull's track celebrating Fidel Castro's transfer of power "Ya se acabó" (A.K.A. It's Over) is not included on this release. Pitbull's singles are "Ya Chico" (Lengua Afuera) and Bojangles (Remix) feat. Lil Jon & Ying Yang Twins - painfully bad track's to listen to. Pitbull does alright celebrating being out of the dope game on the upbeat "Come See Me". "Jealousu" is in the same mold of the singles, while "Que Tu Sabes D'Eso" has Pitbull collaborating with Sinful, and Latin Hip Hop's most egotistical MC Fat Joe. On "Be Quiet" Pitbull reps living in the cocaine capital, in a track that makes me wish he would be quiet. Pitbull try's to show how hard people from his hood are on "Fuego" and "Rock Bottom". "Blood is Thicker Then Water" is a decent introspective collaboration between Pitbull and Redd Eyez. Wyclef and Oobie team up with Pitbull for another dedication to the ladies on "Jungle Feaver". Singer Anjuli Stars provides some soulful vocals to "Raindrops" a track dedicated to those who have past and about appreciating life. "Dime" is a purely Spanish track which features Puerto Rican Singer Ken Y. "Born N Raised" is the album largest collaboration and features appearances from DJ Khaled, Trick Daddy and Rick Ross - this cut was featured on DJ Khaled's "Listennn: The Album". I am not impressed with "El Mariel" but at the same think people who appreciate the reggaeton movement more then myself will enjoy this release.
Customer Rating: Summary: Pitbull is genius Comment: He's the only true hip hop star to appeal to both black and latino hip hop audiences. The CD underlying message is we are all in the same struggle being minorities in this "great" country of equality. He doesn't need to come out and say this directly, he knows he is going to get spins and records sold with club hits, but it is NOT entirely a club CD. Just listen to the floetry on intro and outro tracks, he addresses the death of his father and friend, and also has one of the better spanish rap love songs perhaps every produced with Latin star Ken Y. Of course he is going to make club songs, it's not like many other southern rappers got anything else to say. Their whole crunk/southern rap is either how hard they are or how crunk they can get, atleast Pitbull mixes it all into one + more. Great CD, not the best but great.

He's one of the hardest working artists from what many call the "305" or "the Bottom." Pitbull's singles such as "Toma," "Culo," "Everybody Get Up," "Dammit Man" and more are still club and radio hits. His classic debut album, "M.I.A.M.I." is gold and still selling as Pitbull continues to constantly tour across the country, performing to thousands of satisfied fans every week. Since 2004, you've also have heard Pitbull as an in-demand guest artist bringing his inimitable Miami Cubano stylin' on hits and remixes from labelmates Lil Jon and Ying Yang Twins to Daddy Yankee, DJ Khaled, Nina Skyy, T.O.K., Nelly Furtado, and many more. "El Mariel", Pitbull's sophomore release has already yielded the radio & club anthem "Bojangles" and will include production by Lil Jon, Mr. Collipark, Jim Jonson, Wyclef Jean and the Neptunes and guest shots from Fat Joe, Bun B & Cubo, Wyclef, Latino star Ken-Y, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Ying Yang Twins & of course Lil Jon. With a second Latin influenced rap single, "Ay Chico" breaking before the album is released and more singles to follow, stay tuned because as Pit is fond of saying onstage, "we about to get wild!"
