Customer Rating: Summary: Great stuff! Comment: I love Schubert but Brahms takes the cake on this outing! Bellini conducts the Philharmonia strings right on target. Karajan couldn't have done it no better, and Larry is in top form. Recommend me.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great diversity Comment: I'm relatively new to Fourplay but not to music nor the guitar. It took me 50+ years to finally discover a genre of music that really inspires me - smooth jazz. 'X' is a fantastically diverse album with great tracks both instrumental and vocal. Michael McDonald's 'My Love is Leavin' has become one of my favorite tracks simply because of the power of his voice and the lyrics. 'Sunday Morning' is my other favorite track and would mellow out even the most cynical person. I will say that in the past some of Larry Carlton's guitar solos have been lenghty musical gymnastics but there's nothing tedious about anything on this album. Great vocals, great musical accompaniment. Buy it and ejoy!!
Customer Rating: Summary: For play , and play and play Comment: I have been a fan of Bob James for decades now. I hear his old records today as if they were just produced . The same will happen with this one. A gem in all aspects.
Customer Rating: Summary: do they stop ? Comment: These guys have a combined age of over 200 and still they continue to write such great tunes . Eastern sky will shock even the hard 4play fans
Customer Rating: Summary: Most likely their best effort to date Comment: With each subsequent CD, it seems like Fourplay gets better and better. 'Turnabout' brings back memories of the first few CDs they released when they had Lee Ritenour on guitar. Even Steve Winwood would have to admit that Michael McDonald gives new texture to 'My Love's Leavin'. This band has been making great music since 1991. If this is your first Fourplay purchase, it will make you want to buy each of the previous nine CDs; even the offering of Christmas music!
