Customer Rating: Summary: Old Fogerty you say? Nope. Just like new! Comment: Just received this DVD from Amazon and I'm totally thrilled with it. I knew it would be great, just HOW great I didn't. As others have observed, John Fogerty seems not to have aged a day since CCR were at their height. He leaps and jumps around the stage, all the while never missing a lick on his guitar and barely raising a sweat. John and his tight band take a run through most of CCR's hits and several of John's solo songs.
When you've got a concert like this with practically every song known and most a classic at that, it's hard to pick a favorite moment. My favorite CCR song is "Born on the Bayou" and it's excellently represented here, but my favorite song in this particular concert DVD may be "Keep On Chooglin'" and here's why: John starts out doing a classical run on his guitar before launching in the song, where he sings lead (of course) and plays harmonica. For me, it's just the highest spot of the concert in a concert full of many. The little classical bit is just a tease of how talented this man is.
I've seen Fogerty's Premonition concert and it's excellent also. I can't pick between the two. But I recommend either one very highly. And The Long Road Home is available at a premium price, so snatch it up. You'll be cranking your home system way up and shaking the walls! It doesn't get better than this for classic rock that still lives and breathes with vitality.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Concert "Best"! Comment: Having just seen John Fogerty live in Dallas, I was impressed with the obvious joy he seemed to have in performing. As a college kid, Creedence was a favorite band.
Fogerty was one of a long line of concerts to which I've taken my wife and Mom,(Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor) and we all agreed he was the most enthusiastic and fun. He seemed as if he would play for free just for the enjoyment. I was pleased when his wife brought out a cake with candles to announce that Revival had been nominated for a Grammy for album of the year,
This DVD captures much of Fogerty's enthusiasm and on-stage personna. It's been a joy to watch (and watch and watch).

Customer Rating: Summary: Fogerty at his best Comment: I know there are many CCR fans out there that say no other group of musicians can top them but this DVD shows Fogerty surrounded by an incredible supporting cast. John Molo's powerful drums(especially on Fortunate Son), Billy Brunette is one of the best rythm guitarists and adds solid harmonizing, Bob Brit's solo work (Sweet Hitchhiker & Blue Moon Nights), Matt Nolen complements on the Hammond organ (Tombstone Shadow) and George Hawkins just rips it on base throughout the entire performance(especially Old Man Down the Road). I saw these guys live about 2 1/2 months before this was recorded and it was the best pure rock-n-roll show I have ever seen. This DVD captures it all. The set list is great, Fogerty plays like he's 20, not 60. And they all look like they are having a blast. While you watch it, you get the feeling they know how good this is. Fogerty shows why he is one of the greatest guitar players of all time. This is a phenominal straight forward, no frills, rock-n-roll show. You will not be disappointed.
Customer Rating: Summary: Can't Sit Down On This One! Comment: How can you go wrong with John Fogerty? He has never lost any of his enthusiasm or charisma while on stage. You simply cannot just "sit still" and watch this video. I especially enjoy watching it while on my treadmill....but I can't keep up with John! The song selection and the band are excellent. Whoever did the video editing also did a superb job. I recently attended the Eagles/Dixie Chicks concert in LA....with the exception of Joe Walsh of the Eagles, the other band members did not show a whole lot of enthusiasm or love for their audience (the Dixie Chicks tried their hardest and did a good job but there was some kind of friction going on between the two bands). I'll never understand why people would pay oodles of dollars to sit so far from the stage...but with this video, you're right on the stage! Not only that, you can watch it over and over whenever you want. And, you can clearly see that Fogerty even gets those fans sitting in the stratosphere dancing in their seats. John is and always has been a vibrant energetic entertainer...one of the best ever. I highly recommend this dvd.
Customer Rating: Summary: You just can't go wrong, especially at this price. Comment: If you're a John Fogerty fan you just can't go wrong at this price. Sure, you don't get all the CCR classics, but you get to see Fogerty give it all he's got, and he's got a lot to give in this show. I've seen him in concert twice and he wasn't as energetic as he was in this show. Buy this, and you can see him in concert any time you want.
