Customer Rating: Summary: Got it for the Foxy Foxy track Comment: Now, I'm not a huge Zombie fan, but I really liked Hellbilly Deluxe, and once I recently saw the video for Foxy Foxy, I figured I should invest in another Zombie album. Well, it's ok, but not quite as good as I had expected. 3 stars. Now I wish I would have just downloaded the individual tracks in mp3, but Amazon didn't have that option, at least not yet at the time.
Customer Rating: Summary: From an 8 year Rob Zombie fan (as of 2008) Comment: I've been a fan of Rob Zombie's for nearly eight years, since I was a child of 11-12. And having bought "The Sinister Urge" when it first came out, as well as owning "Hellbilly Deluxe" and "American Made Music to Strip By", I bought "Educated Horses" when it first came out around two years ago.
It's not that the album is horrible as it is showing that Rob is limiting his musical style, and stripping away the gaudy comic/gothic horror element of his previous three albums. It is less of the comic/gothic horror, and more of the trashy style we've come to expect from him as of late, so that's really no surprise.
The surprise comes from the fact that ALL of the songs on this album follow that format, rather than having some variety. The same goes for his musical and vocal stylings. No more does he do the throaty singing style prevelant in songs like "The Great American Nightmare", "Dragula", the chorus of "Superbeast", or the scratchy shrill-pitched ones like "I'm Your Boogeyman", the vocals of "Superbeast", etcetera. Instead, he uses the same singing style as in songs like "Dead Girl Superstar" and "Feel So Numb". The style isn't terrible, I just wish Rob would use more variety to his singing voice like he used to.
Little else is very memorable to the album regarding the guitar or drums or bass. One of the best songs on the album is "The Devil's Rejects" which feels the way it probably was meant to be, a sequel to the song (and movie) "House of 1000 Corpses", managing to be its own song while sounding related to the first.
Customer Rating: Summary: Rob Zombie Educated Horses Comment: I thoroughly enjoyed the lyrics and the sound is great. This is my second copy.
Customer Rating: Summary: A real letdown Comment: I love Zombie's music, I really do. (My mother's still praying for me.) I hav to say, I wish I'd never bought this album. Some of the songs are OK, not Zombie's best, but still OK. The ones that aren't OK remind me of a hair band flashback. They don't even sound like Zombie. Overall, the songs are forgetable, nothing there will stick with the listener after the CD's been put back in it's case, nothing here I want taking up space on my iPod, nothing destined for a future "best of" album. My advice would be to skip this one, it's just not worth the money.
Customer Rating: Summary: worth buying!! Comment: This newest studio release is different, the sound is the same Zombie sound but slower and heavier. Dont get me wrong here there are no bad songs on this cd, if there was I would say so!! 17 Year Locust is the gem here, Ride, also The Lords of Salem are great songs. Its one of those cds that you listen to from start to finish and every song fits in perfect!!

Fresh off the major success of his latest feature film, "The Devil's Rejects," Rob Zombie is returning this spring to his first passion - music - playing it live and loud. Zombie has finished recording his third solo studio CD, "Educated Horses" (Geffen Records). "Educated Horses" was produced by Zombie and long time producer Scott Humphrey (Metallica, Motley Crue), who together also produced the platinum hits Hellbilly Deluxe and The Sinister Urge. Other musicians contributing to the CD are Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Vandals) and Tommy Lee. Zombie, a prolific video director in his own right having directed over twenty five videos, will direct the video for "Foxy Foxy" (the first single) Zombie will re-team with The Devil’s Rejects cinematographer Phil Parmet. Parmet has also worked on Led Zeppelin’s "The Song Remains The Same" and Frank Zappa’s "Baby Snakes".
