Customer Rating: Summary: Why the studio music Comment: I am watching this on HDTV right now, being the first time I ever heard of Benise. I was entranced by the music from the first note, but immediately noticed something just didn't look right: the music I was hearing was not the music I was seeing! My question is why? Was the audio recording botched? It looks like they did a wonderful show, but I was disappointed not being able to hear what I was actually seeing. Not only is it the guitar, but the violins, drums, everything! This show would get five stars from me if the audio was live. I'm sure the actual live performance is phenomenal. I wouldn't go so far as to call Benise a fake (he appears to really know the guitar), just something happened in production. I'm more disappointed with the producer/editor than anyone else. Let me hear the live performance, please!
Customer Rating: Summary: Really enjoyed it. Comment: I really liked it an bought one for my brother also. His friend saw it and bought one. Want to buy his other one when it comes down in price. Also bought the CD to play in the car.
Customer Rating: Summary: Benise Video is simply great Comment: I first saw this on PBS and decided I wanted the video. The music is great, but combined with the video, it's something else. I've read a number of comparisons with other world music. I simply look at this video as a standalone. It doesn't need to rock the world - it is simply done well and enjoyable to listen to. I have used as a demo for my theater room for a bunch of friends and it is very impressive. I love the guitar and the music.
Customer Rating: Summary: Benise - A Great Artist Comment: Terrific latin music. A little more on the guitar and a little less on the dramatics would have been better. Still, can't get enough of his playing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Entertainment! Comment: If you take two parts great acoustic guitar, one part Cirque du Soliel, another part, Stomp or Blast, and make it into a flamenco-centric show, you would have Nights of Fire. I caught Benise on a PBS special, and order both the DVD and CD of this show the next day. If you are a flamenco purist, then shy away from this. If you prefer a pure Cirque du Soliel show, buy something else. If you don't mind a change-up, then this is for you. The editing and camera work put together a good experience of the stage show, and Benise's infectious smile made all worth watching. Like the subject says, great entertainment!
