February 2006 issue of Swing Journal, Japan's leading monthly jazz magazine, rated this CD/SACD Hybrid disc the best recording for the month.
So I bought it right away, only to prove that I should not repeat buying albums just becaue they are reviewed highly for their recording quality.
The sound quality is indisputably superb (Wish 11 years younger Bill Evans lived 20 + more years to be recorded on DSD), but not necessary so with performances themselves contained herein.
The first tune Oleo was a real turn off, followed by In a Sentimental Mood, which was only okay. After that, I ended up falling asleep nodding, instead of swinging with my eyes closed. 'S Wonderful, the previous recording by the same trio, presented much better performances that I could get into more. This disc deserve 5 stars for the sound quality and 3 stars for performances, which concludes with the overall 4 stars rating.
