Summary: Great for kids and adults!
Comment: Love it! I bought this to have new "in-the-car music". My 3-year-olds love the songs and I enjoy them too, unlike a lot of kids's music. The songs incorporate the alphabet in fun and creative ways, and share other good facts, too. (My sons are now keenly interested in evergreen trees thanks to "C is for Conifers".) The bonus DVD is great too, and has all the songs set to fun animation and puppetry.

Comment: I love this CD/DVD combo! It's great for children of all ages and parents as well. My daughter loves the songs and gets excited when we sing them to her.

Summary: Great for kids!!!!
Comment: My daughter loved the 123's CD/DVD after seeing the videos on Playhouse Disney between shows; so we naturally ordered the ABC's to complete the collection. She is 19 months and every time they come on she starts to dance! I recommend this for anyone with small children, afterall these are the same guys who did the theme song for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!

Summary: Great cd/dvd for the whole family
Comment: This cd became an overnight hit, with catchy tunes and adult voices singing - its one that can be played again and again without driving you crazy. We learned the songs on the cd first then started watching the dvd. The variety of imagery in really great, there is something for everyone on there. We also recommend the 123s dvd/cd too.

Summary: F is for Fun! Go, go, go for G!
Comment: We bought our boys this CD/DVD combo not long after it first came out. Well, our oldest was three at the time and he didn't really get into it--I'm not sure why, but maybe it was because Mom and Dad were so excited about it. But we recently dusted it off and tossed it into the DVD player and now both boys, ages 3 and 5, are completely hooked.

Not only are the tunes catchy, they're clever in a way that both kids and parents can appreciate. Anyone who has ever listened to TMBG before knows how their lyrics and music can be quirky and fun; as a long-time fan myself, I think this is probably their best album. The schtick works better here than ever before.

The DVD is wonderful, too. The videos feature animation, puppets, and even a 'live' performance. Everything is colorful, lively, and well-done. The videos manage to be fun and funky without being too abstract or condescending--TMBG don't take themselves too seriously (when have they ever?) but they take their young audience very seriously. And Mom and Dad won't mind watching it the 2 or 3 or dozen times in a row the kids will demand it!

I C U N U R O K!

Editorial Reviews:

No stranger to the realm of children's records, They Might Be Giants have seen success with their CD No! and the book-and-CD combo Bed, Bed, Bed. Their latest CD, Here Come the ABCs, offers up 25 alphabetically themed songs. However, as is their charming way, the two Johns (Flansburgh and Linnell), use the letters as merely the connective tissue, allowing them to pursuit intriguing flights of fancy that consider everything from the relative power of letters and sounds to animal hijinks. Just as they've always done, there are wistful ballads and high octane rockers. TMBG have always been a family-friendly band, and this disc works just fine for adult fans, who can rightfully consider this simply their newest release. --David Greenberger
