Customer Rating: Summary: Brian Culbertson - It's On Tonight review Comment: Big fan of this man's music and this project does not disappoint at all. Great diversity in the musical instruments he chooses and the combination of vocals on the cuts make for a wonderful listening experience. Suggested listening to all who enjoy "good driving" jazz.
Received it during the timeframe indicated with no damage done to it during transport. Enjoyed purchasing with Amazon for it is truly hassle free. Will continue to do business with Amazon in the future.
Thanks
Customer Rating: Summary: goodbuy Comment: As a smooth jazz addict, this piece is bouncy, uplifting and downright pleasurable to listen to. The latter few pieces are a bit "tamer" but the album is a winner for my money!
Customer Rating: Summary: Thank God for Brian Comment: This man has more talent in his pinky than most men have in 10 lifetimes , finally a complete mid-downtempo work of art.
Customer Rating: Summary: Billy '2sweet 'Taylor Comment: Now I am just beginning to get into jazz music,or I should say for the last two years I have been kicking it around. Now you real jazzmen or Women know that's not a lot time to say that you know jazz.I'm a old school fan of R&B from the middle sixties to present. One night I decided to give jazz a chance. When I tuned in my radio to the jazz channel they had a nerve to be featuring this Guy. I was blown out of my mind,I could'nt beleive what I was hearing and what I had been missing. The next day I bought everything that I could find "by this guy'.It's on tonight is my favorite. Trust the Rookie on this one.You can't go wrong. If you like Brian's sweet piano/keyboard on his previous releases, you'll love this one.
Customer Rating: Summary: Like Water Comment: I haven't bought the album, just finished listening to the amazon music sampler, and I am in love! Its amazing...Its something I would listen to while taking a bubbble bath with some candles. Its smooth all the way through, and all I could think of was water. If you love smooth jazz like I do, this is worth adding to the selection.

The phrase "It's On Tonight," is a catch-word leading to nocturnal negotiations. On this, his seventh CD as a leader, the Illinois-born keyboardist Brian Culberston composed a 12-song "seduction suite," designed to inspire moonlight maneuvers--legal or illicit. His cohorts in carnal knowledge and crime include several vocalists: Will Downing's impassioned baritone imbues the zesty title track. The always awesome Patti Austin graces "Love Will Never Let You Down," and Marc Nelson lends his poetic pipes to the straightforward "Wear it Out." Saxophonists Boney James and Kirk Whalum lend their silken improvisations to the mix, along with the Milesian musings of trumpeter Chris Botti. Culbertson's musicality obviously speaks the language of the radio-friendly smooth jazz variety, albeit laced with the influences of Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, and Tower of Power. In this idiom, the groove rules, and Culbertson and company ride them like pros. --Eugene Holley, Jr.
