Comment: My first live Incubus experience came in 2004 when they were out promoting A Crow Left Of The Murder. Incubus has always been my personal favorite band and to see them live and see all the energy they put forth in their performance was something I'll never be able to describe. Such is the case with their 2003 show at Lollapalooza. Of all the bootlegs released (all 4), Live At Lollapalooza 2003 is by far the most straight forward. With 13 tracks and crowd participation kept to a minimum (something that bewilders me still), this plays more as an official live recording than a bootleg. Nevertheless, if you like Incubus at all, you're sure to enjoy this effort.

The song selection is great for a casual fan, and for us diehards, hearing Nebula is reason enough to buy this. Warning seems to me a bit awkward of an opener but serves it's purpose well, other than that, the order seems pretty good, probably would've rather had Are You In? as the last song though. Vitamin deserves some special mention merely because of the out-of-left-field cover of Lionel Richie's Hello, which is played excellent.

I've come to the conclusion that Brandon has two live voices. The first one is the all out, adrenaline laced voice, the one I'm sure everyone prefers. But he also displays a more lazy type of voice sometimes in which he'll just speak the lyrics at times instead of actually singing them. Thankfully though, the latter doesn't seem to happen too terribly often, and not at all on here. As for the rest of the band, top notch as always. No real technical problems seem to plague them, and Kilmore is a fairly pivotal role in this show (finally!) with the great rendition of Battlestar.

I won't say which songs I like best because Incubus performs them all so well, instead I'll say that for the price and with the profits going to a good cause, it's an excellent investment for collectors and listeners alike.

Oh, and since it's not listed, here's the tracklisting:

Warning
Nice To Know You
Make Yourself
The Warmth
Stellar
Circles
Vitamin
Battlestar
Nebula
Pistola
Are You In?
Nowhere Fast
Wish You Were Here

Summary: Incubus is a 5 star band!
Comment: I'm just looking out for you guys... Why is it out of stock? Because it's sold exclusively at the incubusbootlegs website. It's right under 10 bucks there brand new, and proceeds go toward the Make Yourself Foundation. You shouldn't pay more than what the band would sell it for.

Summary: Great live album from a great live band.
Comment: Live At Lollapalooza 2003 includes live tracks from S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Make Yourself and Morning View as well as one track from A Crow Left Of The Murder, and a couple never-before-recorded covers including Lionel Richie's "Hello" (at the end of "Vitmain") and Shudder To Think's "X-French Tee Shirt." Also featured are guest performances from DJ Cut Chemist and DJ Nu-Mark from Jurassic 5.

This is one of the best live albums I have heard. So many bands sound great on record, and when you see the show, they are so bad that you're forced to question whether you're even watching the same band. Incubus, however, has the talent to faithfully reproduce their studio recordings on stage. The sound quality is pristine. When they drop the audience mics, you would think they were in a recording studio. Brandon is in great voice, and Mike's playing is so skilled and versatile I found myself wondering why he doesn't get more solos on the albums.

The only complaint I would have is that they don't list which songs came from which shows in the liner notes. Some fans may be disappointed that there is no pre-S.C.I.E.N.C.E. material on this disc, but overall Live at Lollapalooza is a great live overview of a great live band.

Editorial Reviews:

Incubus put on a performance to remember at Lollapalooza 2003. Performing live versions of their hit tracks such as Warning, Nice To Know You, Stellar, and many other fan favorites, Incubus set the stage for what would be one of their most remembered performances of all time.
