Summary: Beautiful Lullabies - Great for Baby and Mom/Dad!
Comment: Ok, since I have listened to at least some of this cd every night for the past ten months(!) I feel confident that I can give a good review!
We got this cd when our daughter was about 4 weeks old, and we were trying to get a consistent bedtime routine going. The music is truly beautiful - I don't think there's even one song I don't like - and it really soothes the baby. My favorites are the first track (The Lion Sleeps Tonight) and the tenth (I think) track (Sweet Mother.)
If you are looking for a lovely, calming cd of lullabies, this is absolutely the one to go with!

Comment: I own African Lullaby and love the thoughtful selection of songs and wonderful packaging. I was delighted to find out that part 2 has been released! Soothing global rhythms for the baby and parents too!

Hypnotic, caressing, soothing...these songs speak to the listener in the universal language of lullabies. The harmonies are gorgeous; the voices are tender; the instruments are haunting. The double-cased packaging with its Kente cloth design, embroidered African animals, and die-cut scalloped edges is as handsome as the music. An accompanying booklet contains notes about the performers, the languages and the origins of the songs as well as lyrics and translations.
