Comment: The first song I ever heard by Peter White was Caravan of Dreams and I have since then made it a goal to snag every album he has made. This one rates at the top of the list for me ! His music always manages to make me forget all my problems and puts me in a wonderful mood. Thanks Peter for coming into my life !

Comment: I hadn't kept up with Peter White's releases for a while so added "Confidential" to my Christmas wish list. This is an excellent disc, in my opinion his best yet. I haven't been able to displace it from my car stereo after 3 weeks.
This work is a bit more uptempo than his others, many tracks have a pronounced bass drive and subtle programmed textures that add depth and complexity to the music. There's not a clunker on the disc, I highly recommend it. For my money Peter White is one of the best of the smooth jazz lot.

What separates White from the crowded pack of smooth-jazz guitarists is his exquisite sense of melody. That skill is on full display on Confidential, easily the most well-rounded album of White's career. Among the highpoints here is the return of vocalist Christopher Cross, who shines on a cover of Brenda Russell's light bossa nova tune, "She's in Love." Other guests include pianist Brian Culbertson, who offers a Bob James-like solo on the title track, trumpeter Chris Botti ("Stormfront"), and saxophonist Mindi Abair, who graces "Are You Mine." But it's White's lines that soar throughout, like melodies in search of words. --Mark Ruffin
