Customer Rating: Summary: PATSY CLINES GREATEST HITS Comment: This CD is better than other Greatest Hits albums I have. More songs and much better quality.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love Patsy Comment: I am 57 yrs old so I was and still am a Patsy Cline fan.She had the most beautiful voice in country music, and I believe her music will be around for many more years to come.
Customer Rating: Summary: Simply WOW! Comment: What a voice and what heart she put into her singing and a shame she died so young. she set a high standard few could match even today.
Customer Rating: Summary: Patsy set the standard for all country artists with every song she sang Comment: The great Patsy Cline had a voice as clear as a bell--and her excellent diction always bolstered her performances. This CD proves it!
The track set begins with "Walkin' After Midnight." The percussion and guitar mark the beat; and Patsy sings this without a superfluous note. The backup chorus works well for "Walkin' After Midnight," too. "Crazy," a Patsy Cline masterpiece, features a terrific arrangement for piano; and Patsy sings this perfectly as only she could. Patsy makes "Crazy" a true tour de force--and how's about that male backup chorus? In addition, "I Fall To Pieces" features Patsy singing passionately of how she still has feelings for a man who no loner loves her. Love that percussion!
"Back In Baby's Arms" sports a great upbeat melody to go along with the happy tune about Patsy's character reunited with her man once more. The strings, percussion and piano carry the bulk of the musical arrangement; and the backup chorus enhances the natural beauty of "Back In Baby's Arms," too. "You're Stronger Than Me" has yet another rich arrangement for the guitar, percussion, chorus and more; Patsy sings this perfectly without missing a single beat! Patsy sings of her romantic feelings for a man she loves.
The CD ends strong with "Leavin' On Your Mind." This is yet another beautifully arranged country ballad; and Patsy delivers this flawlessly. Patsy fears her man may be leaving her; and she wishes he would tell her now so she can start to get over him. The guitars, strings and percussion work very well on "Leavin' On Your Mind."
The liner notes include beautiful artwork; we get the song credits, an essay by Jay Orr and Don Roy--and more!
Patsy Cline will never be forgotten. She set the standard for country singers who follow in her footsteps. This terrific CD gives us just some of her greatest hits.
Customer Rating: Summary: PATSY CLINE'S GREATEST HITS Comment: EVERYTHING I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. I DRIVE LONG DISTANCES BY MYSELF AND IT'S ONE OF THOSE-- CRANK IT UP AND SING ALONG !!!!!!

Editorial Reviews:

In the late 1950s and the '60s, country music was essentially a singles medium. This album, first released in 1967 and reissued on compact disc in 1988, collects Patsy Cline's biggest hits--all of them from the country singles market--including "Walkin' After Midnight," "Sweet Dreams (Of You)," "Crazy," and "I Fall to Pieces." Producer Owen Bradley surrounds Cline's full-throated, emotionally charged vocals with lush, sophisticated arrangements that set the standard for Nashville's "countrypolitan" sound. Before Shania Twain found a new (though not necessarily improved) way to combine country and pop in the 1990s, this was the top-selling country album of all time by a female artist. --Rick Mitchell
