Summary: my mantra
Comment: 'Natural' envelopes you in an atmosphere that is warm, inviting,
gently philosophical, and spirited. I have played this recording
'too many times' and i still hold it dearly. Consumate playing
and subtle masterful arrangements. As welcome as a cool ocean
breeze on a hot summers day. It's one of my all times faves.

Comment: This is one of the more recent cds of Celso's. Very, Very good. You will listen to it over and over again. I promise!

Comment: this cd is mellow as can be. celso is an excellent bossa guitarist and in this album he doesn't go very far from the bossa style that joao gilberto pioneered (except for on consolacao and buteco 2 where he channels baden powell).
his voice has come a long ways. i was listening to one of his earlier albums and it's really impressive how much he improved. some compare his voice to caetano veloso's but i don't really see it.
there's plenty of light, crisp percussion (listen to teu sorriso for some cool berimbau). the production really adds to the whole feel too. the album is entitled natural and there are some natural sounds subtlely thrown in there on few tracks.
this cd is refreshing and beautiful. if you are thinking about getting this or rive gauche rio, i'd suggest this one. i think the songs are more beautiful and the production is more to my taste. if you like this, move on to rive gauche rio next -- it's got plenty of good moments.

Comment: Textured, acoustic, layered, gentle, relaxed and above all warm.

This music reminds me of a vacation I haven't had yet, if that can be possible. It is of a style like Caetano Veloso, with more samba flavor.

I wish I could describe it better, all I can say is that it is what you listen to to quiet your mind, when the weather is cold it will warm you up, it is good for a party as a warm calm backdrop, it is good with headphones with your feet up...it is among the finest samba/bossanova I have.

Comment: I had the pleasure of seeing Celso Fonseca in concert here in Tokyo last week with Chie. I actually went to the concert to see Chie (album - Sabia) but found I enjoyed Celso MORE! So much so I bought 2 albums of his right away - Natural and Slow Motion Bossa Nova. Great guitar player and if you like Bossa Nova and are looking for a new addition to your collection, I highly recommend his work.
