Customer Rating: Summary: Kids Love It Comment: My kids heard the song "back in black" when they watched the movie "Iron Man" and they asked me whose song it was. This was my chance to introduce them to classic rock so I bought them this CD. They love it. Now they want to borrow the rest of my CD's.
Customer Rating: Summary: Contains Two All-Time Rock Classics Comment: The title track and "You Shook Me All Night Long" alone justify the price. Even non-fans gotta play air guitar to the first 30 seconds of Back in Black, and the lyrics on "You Shook Me All Night Long" are classic... "Workin' double time on the seduction line, she was one of a kind, she's just mine all mine.... had to cool me down to take another round, now I'm back in the ring to take another swing..." For what many consider to be "hard core" they actually make good, good music that's easy to listen to.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Classic Comment: I ordered as a replacement for a lost copy. I hope the quality is as good as the original.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love it! Comment: OMG! I listen to this every day at work! It arrived earlier than scheduled and is in excellent condition.
Customer Rating: Summary: Yes, it's AC/DC but.... Comment: I grew up occasionally listening to AC/DC, always in the background from friends playing it at school or in a car. It never stood out to me. Now at 41 I rediscovered this old band and like it a lot. I especially like listening to it while weight lifting. "Back in Black" and "Dirty Deeds" are both raw and raunchy (like the classic Mississippi Delta Blues these guys probably grew up listening to), but after listening to both several times I find that song for song, "Dirty Deeds" is better than "Back in Black". Both have AC/DC's signature sound and are milestones of the hard rock genre, but I just don't get tired of listening to "Dirty Deeds" which I can't say about "Back in Black". In rediscovering this band, I was a little surprised to later find out that next to Michael Jackson's "Thriller", "Back in Black" is the #2 selling album of all time. Okay, but I personally don't hear it in the album. But this is just the perspective of a straight white male with no tattoos whose favorite album of all time is Dire Strait's "Brothers in Arms"....

Editorial Reviews:

Most critics complain Back in Black, the album AC/DC recorded after the death of their original lead screamer Bon Scott, is ridiculously juvenile, obvious, snickering, bludgeoning, derivative, single-minded about sex and booze, a big cartoon. All true, of course, and--on rock 'n' ragers like "What Do You Do For Money Honey," "You Shook Me All Night Long," and the title track--all great. As Scott's replacement Brian Johnson reminds us, loud and crunchy, no-holds-barred "rock and roll ain't noise pollution...it makes good, good sense." Never trust anyone who refuses to drink domestic beer, laugh at the Three Stooges, or crank Back in Black. --David Cantwell
