Summary: Wiggles kicking it old school!
Comment: i bought this dvd even after i read the horrible reviews on amazon but after watching it with my 2 young children, i realize it's not all bad. yes the production isn't as high tech as the new releases, but it is nice to see the guys starting out.(i swear Anthony is wearing a greenish shirt. Why did they decide on a blue wiggle and not stick with the green?) Also the two different Captain Feathersword(one being Anthony the other his brother) were no where near as good as Paul(the guy you all know and love as the captain) but it was nice to see how even that character has evolved! Not all that bad dvd and the music still sounds the same!

Comment: This item indicated that it included 3 discs, Wiggle Time/Dance Party/Hoop dee doo, but it really only included 1 disc, dance party. I paid $21.99 plus shipping for 1 very old dvd! Not happy!

Comment: I ordered this product and recieved only The Wiggles Dance Party DVD. I called up customer service and told them that I recieved only one of the videos. They were very nice and said that they would send me a replacement order at no charge. When I recieved the second package in the mail it too was just the Wiggles Dance Party DVD. I noticed that the label on the back was incorrect which is why I kept recieving the wrong DVD. I told this to customer service hoping that we could get this issue resolved. On my third shipment I again recieved only The Wiggles Dance Party DVD. I give up! My sons love the Wiggles and it's just disappointing that they couldn't take the time to fix this for me.

Summary: one of the best wiggles videos
Comment: I have to disagree with the people who dislike this video for its low production values--that's precisely why we like it. The songs are great -- all the classics are here. Also, the skits are few and relatively short. (Our two-year-olds get bored during the skits and long conversation-pieces.) There aren't a huge number of distracting colors and lights on the stage; just tons of good singing and dancing. We love this video, along with "Wiggle Time", which is also a relatively early pre-Disney production of theirs.

Summary: First and Favorite Wiggles Video
Comment: Yes, the production quality is awful; Anthony's hair looks like he doesn't own a mirror; and in half the scenes Anthony has on a short sleeve shirt/half long sleeved. However, it is still my favorite.
Dance Party was our family's first introduction to the Wiggles in 2003. My son (now 5 1/2) had a HUGE Wiggles obsession right as they first started gaining popularity in the US.
The songs were silly and fun, whereas many of the later ones seem like they ran out of ideas and yet still felt compelled to keep writing songs, no matter how stupid they are. Maybe I only feel this way because these are the Wiggles songs that I knew first, but all of the subsequent Wiggles videos we have (close to 10!) just don't measure up.
Perhaps it is because I watched it a million times before they even HAD a "real" big red car, but there is something appealing about 4 guys and their Cardboard props that is more original and refreshing than the over commercialized, over-done videos that followed.

For the non-Australians out there, the Wiggles are a quartet of male songbirds reminiscent of the Monkees, but aimed at the Barney-watching set. The Down Under foursome sings about mashed bananas and hot potatoes, dances with the energy of fitness instructors, and makes mild attempts at being educational. (Three of the four met while studying early childhood education.) Their stab at multiculturalism results in the Jewish song "Havenu Shalom Alachem." Joining them are a big green dinosaur named Dorothy (seem familiar?), Henry the giant purple octopus, Wags the Dog, and a man in a pirate suit called Captain Feathersword. The songs are catchy, the dancing vigorous, and the outfits colorful approximations of the uniforms worn by the original crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. A couple of the haircuts look like they might have been acquired on the spaceship as well. The 15-song video runs 33 minutes long and claims to be appropriate for ages 1-8, but will most likely appeal to preschoolers and kindergartners. --Kimberly Heinrichs Dance Party
The Wiggles, that wacky outfit wowing kids from Down Under, welcome preschoolers for a lively, loopy musical fiesta on their sixth release, Dance Party. In addition to Murray, Greg, Jeff, and Anthony, Oz's answer to the Fab Four, chiming in on this 15-song charmer of a dance- and sing-along are the usual wiggly suspects--Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog, Captain Feathersword, and the remarkably light-on-her-feet hostess of the party, Dorothy the Dinosaur. Along with all the fancy footwork, expect the frenetic pace of all Wiggles offerings (nobody's attention span is apt to be challenged by a 15-segment, 40-minute video), but also expect a less polished production than in previous titles. The gang's unfamiliar hair styles and other telltale clues bear the trappings of an early performance. Which in no way dilutes the fun-for-all delirium. In fact, the goofier-than-ever gags and graceful child dance troupes featured on a couple of numbers here propel this tape into top-shelf Wiggles territory. Songs include "Can You Point Your Fingers and Do the Twist?," "Wags the Dog," "Five Little Joeys," "Di Dicki Do Dum," "I'm a Cow," "Do the Flap," "On Your Holiday," "Hat on My Head," "The Magic Bag," "Brown Girl in the Ring," "Georgia's Song," "Our Boat Is Rocking on the Sea," "Nicky Nacky Nocky Noo," "Dorothy's Dance Party," and "The Big Red Car." --Tammy La Gorce
