Comment: I had this album in the dark ages when everything was on vinyl. I missed the great pensive songs on this album and decided to buy the CD. It was a good decision and I have thoroughly enjoyed the trip back in time. When it is time relax and have some soothing background music on, this album hits the spot!

Summary: Sinatra Sings Some Sad Ones
Comment: Here is an example of the kind of album's that Sinatra really invented and excelled at...the theme album, taking similar sad songs and combining them carfully into a whole experience. You want to feel melancholy? Listen to this and also maybe the album Where Are You? his other lost love album. By the end of the evening, you may want a friend to hide you sharp objects!
Beautifully produced with arrangements and orchestrations by the great Nelson Riddle, what can be better? Sinatra's voice is perfect. This album for Sinatra lovers is a must have. Listen with your heart.
Kids who only buy one song from an album these days are missing the experience of having an artist take you on a whole lovely trip, like Sinatra does here.

Summary: Another Haunting Collection From The Master.
Comment: The last in the classic quadrilogy of "saloon song" albums released between 1955 and 1959, "No One Cares" takes the pain of the previous of the previous three ("In The Wee Small Hours," "Where Are You" and "Only The Lonely") to new depths, resulting in probably his darkest record, but nonetheless one of his finest.
Frank's voice is in typically excellent condition, and Gordon Jenkins' arrangements are lovely and evocative, at times eerie in their quiet intensity. Among the highlights are the finest in the world renditions of the standards "Stormy Weather," (on whose intro Frank's vocal abilities ascend to previously unscaled peaks) "I Can't Get Started" and "I'll Never Smile Again" (which Frank could've never imbued with such sadness during his Dorsey days), the Cahn / Van Huesen penned titular opener, and the haunting "None But The Lonely Heart," (based on a Tschaikowsky piece). The album as a whole, is uniformly solid the whole way through.
The four bonus tracks are for the most part ("The One I Love Belongs To Somebody Else" does not nearly as well as a ballad as it does as a swinger) weak, with the exception of "This Was My Love," which is a first rate Sinatra stunner complete with excellent phrasing and interpretive prowess as well as chilling arrangement.
"No One Cares" is without question an essential purchase for any fan of Ol' Blue Eyes or music in general.

Comment: I've been listening to this album for decades and it can still bring a tear to my eye. The man was never in better voice- everything is here. Diction,control,passion,love. ONE OF THE TOP THREE OF HIS CAREER!

Comment: This is one of Frank Sinatra's best albums. It's brilliant perfectionism of the duality of Sinatra's endearing voice and rich orchestra into one emotional sound are quite moving. Sinatra's voice remains timeless in his performances on this album evocative of what touches, moves and lingers in the heart.

Essentially the sequel to 1957's Where Are You? this 1959 release finds Frank Sinatra once again singing tales of woe to the lush accompaniment of Gordon Jenkins's classically influenced arrangements. Torch songs this time around include "Just Friends," "None but the Lonely Heart," "Stormy Weather," and "When No One Cares," all delivered with minimal vocal acrobatics and maximum ache by Ol' Blue Eyes. Some fans may prefer the sparer arrangements of such Nelson Riddle collaborations as In the Wee Small Hours, but this still makes for superior late-night listening. --Dan Epstein
