Carly Smithson was cheated. She should have been the 2008 AMERICAN IDOL.
Her voice is amazing and her personality matches it too! This girl is going places.
I can't wait till her next album comes out.

Summary: Carly can really sing...better than many big stars.
Comment: I was hugely disappointed when she was off Idol, big mistake. She is very,very good. I hope she continues and makes another CD soon....then another. Timing is everything. She is young, sings clearly and with a great stage presence. I love this CD..IMO it could have been done yesterday and is very timely. It is the kind of music you want to drive down the freeway with the top down....which I do.
Good luck to you Carly. Buy the CD you will not be disappointed.

Summary: Carly was already good
Comment: Carly Smithson Hennessy was already demonstrating her talent and versatile voice seven years before appearing on American Idol, where she lost the popularity contest, while the show retained inferior singers. This album demonstrates what many of us knew; Carly has a great future in show business. There are a couple of weak cuts on this collection, but most are very good, making it a worthwhile addition to your music library.

Comment: This is a great CD and it's a shame it was overlooked 7 years ago. I loved Carly on AI and was sad to see her go. She is very talented and has such versaility with her voice. I can't wait for her to release another CD. She is a true talent.

Comment: My wife and I were big fans of Carly Smithson on AI. Her voice is perfect for Pop Rock and edgier stuff. A 21'st century Ann Wilson in the making. If they ever make a movie to tell the story of the Band Heart, Carly is the natural choice to play Ms. Wilson. While personally I could do without the tats etc. I couldn't help but love her vocals until the Andrew Lloyd Weber week, and then I could have done without the song choice.
In any case I bought the download of this album from Amazon hoping for more of the same. Unfortunately, until you get to the last two tracks of the album, this might have been a Brittany Spears album, which is not the Carly we fell in love with at my house. Now if you like bubble gum pop, this is a pretty good buy, but if you want Carly Smithson instead of Carly Hennessey, you should buy the AI songs on I tunes which I like much better, but that's just me.
Hopefully and I'm sure this is the case, that the AI exposure will bring Carly the kind of opportunity to make the kind of album I want from her, unfortunately this just wasn't it.
