The entire album has been remastered and sounds better than ever. At the price Amazon has it, it is well worth the upgrade.

Comment: Michael is King!! There was no one on earth that did it like this guy, the way he moved, the way he moonwalked accross the stage. His videos, he's still King u better Believe it. He ruled, his throne can never be filled.

Comment: If you're a young adult, these songs take you back to your childhood. Dangerous happened when there was a booming reinvention of musical sound and Michael kinged the charts. This cd is one of his bests.

Comment: When this cd came out in 1991, the public (I admit, me too) was givin' Michael a really hard time because of his very dramatic skin lighting (started between the Victory Tour and Bad Album), wierd choice of wardrobe (unlike the simple sequin jacket and white glove, he switches to ace bandages, boot buckles, and 99 cent store tattered wife-beaters - lol), wacky hairstyle (thats why the jherri curl was a disaster), his strong desire for lil' boys (why he bulit the Neverland Ranch of which got him into tons of trouble), and might I add the "Black and White" video that was chopped off in half after several complaints about him masterbating and breakin' windows and stuff on the street scene. Because of that, America did not give the Dangerous album a chance. Although I consider this album to be mediocre, but I admit, I love most of his fast-paced Teddy Riley penned cuts ("Jam", "In The Closet", "She Drives Me Wild", "Remember The Time", and "Can't Let Her Get Away"). The only number one pop song off the album, "Black and White" was good, but I admit that the video really sucked. The other tracks were either mediocre or sucked big time. The main flaw about this album is that its too filling. Its stuffed with many crappy cuts such as "Give In To Me" and the boring "Will You Be There." Off The Wall, Thriller, and Bad were only less than 50 minutes each. Dangerous exceeds the limit to about nearly 75 minutes long and the fillers prove the mediocricy. Not bad album, but this album and his future releases are too filling. Appearance does'nt make the music. Michael does and this showed a good effort, despite what was going on with him around 1991-93.

Michael Jackson was still going for pop hits with 1991's Dangerous, but he also front-loaded the album with six straight Teddy Riley-assisted cuts. This half-hour swoop of tense, aggressive, often angular funk was Jackson's most interesting music since Thriller, and still sounds, well, invincible on this remastered edition. After that, the record's uneven, but there's nothing embarrassing about it, either. "Gone Too Soon," a non-Jackson composition about teen AIDS casualty Ryan White, is a quiet statement (particularly played next to the choir-laden "Heal the World," "Keep the Faith," and "Will You Be There") showing that the star doesn't always have to get showy. The sprightly "Black or White" is explicitly pro-interracial romance, an angle its video didn't go near, and the urgent "Give In to Me" is almost scary. Scary good, that is. --Rickey Wright
