Customer Rating: Summary: Haunting Comment: Having family from County Donegal in County Ulster, Ireland, and loving Phil Coulter, there could be no better album for me than this one. They grew up just a short walk from where the flight of the Earls took place. The haunting stories behind the lyrics and the way the melodies remind me of that beautiful, though forbidding lake. I will treasure this album always. It is one of the very best to help me remember my ancestors home.
Customer Rating: Summary: THE BEST Comment: This is my most favorite album. Usually, on an album there are at least a couple of songs that I don't care for, but every track of Lake of the Shadows is fantastic.
Customer Rating: Summary: Glad it's now available on MP3 Comment: I bought this from another online source a couple of years ago, but it was in WMA format with the dreaded digital rights management. Changed computers. Couldn't transfer the license thanks to the "improvements" in Windows Media Player.
This is a wonderful album, and was well worth buying all over again to get a high quality copy free of DRM. I echo all of the other glowing reviews; this is my favorite album.
Customer Rating: Summary: A beautiful CD that grows on you Comment: First time through this CD, I wasn't terribly fond of some of the selections. But after three listens, it has become another one of my Coulter favorites.
If they played music like this on the radio, I might consider returning to listening to commercial radio.
Customer Rating: Summary: Just right! Comment: I received this album from my English teacher as a graduation present. I was in an overseas boarding school then which involved many emotions since I was away from home. This album always calm me down no matter how I was feeling, whether I was sad or angry or even lonely. Even my brother who hardly touched my CDs secretly listened to it and even got himself a copy. I'm glad I had the chance to listen to it. It's definitely worth it to get this CD!
