Customer Rating: Summary: Another great product from Amazon Comment: Amazon has done it again by being there with their great selection of products they sell. Amazon always has described to me the product in detail so there are no surprises when I buy from them for a gift. Keep up the good work
Customer Rating: Summary: Singing Just for Me Comment: I have become so hooked on Diana Krall, simply becase she sings with such emotive warmth, she makes it feel personal,(no, not in a creepy stalker way... in a good way!)and it can make your less than perfect day seem just a little bit better. Album highlights are S'wonderful, Cry me a River, and Besame Mucho, but entire Cd is very good.
The perfect music to unwind or romance to.
Thank you Ms. Krall!
Customer Rating: Summary: What can I say...... Diana Krall has the old era magic Comment: As a jazz fan for many years with most of my heros being from the 40s and 50s, I can say that Diana Krall would compete with the best of them. Head and shoulders above most of the new talent entering the jazz arena today. I say that even though I want to like them, because I want that era of music to continue. Diana just has that old style magic. This CD is just no exception. You cannot go wrong with any of her CDs if you like the play list.
Customer Rating: Summary: This CD is my constant companion Comment: I love this CD..it is so sexy and smoky like being in a barely lit bar and just sitting there with your eyes closed and enjoying every note. It has two of my favorites songs, Love Letters and Cry me a River. I fell in love with this CD and it is all I listen to now....Diana Krall is so warm and sultry and makes you feel every touch of the piano. I can't wait for the next wonders of Diana. Thanks Diana for a great and awesome CD. A little history on the song Love Letters, it is from the movie of the same name from 1945 starring Joseph Cotton and Jennifer Jones (great movie). The song and movie were both nominated for an Academy Award. The song was written by Victor Young and lyrics by Edward Heyman. I love the ending notes of this song, it is just beautiful.
Customer Rating: Summary: The Look of Love is in her work. Comment: Diana Krall is a talent that enters in upon the human community once in every 100 years. I am fortunate to be alive at the same time. In this collection, she reaches into our psche to wrest control of what we know we are: bodies of emotion and anticipation. I have not heard this kind of musical arrangement since the great Antonio Carlos Jobim conspired with Claus Ogerman to steal our hearts away. Graceful, masterfully delivered, the lady lets us know who is charge of our emotions.

The Look of Love doesn't tamper with Diana Krall's ongoing success, continuing the emphasis on romantic ballads and embracing them with lush string arrangements. At the core, of course, is Krall's voice. She's developing into one of the great torch singers, with an approach that's both direct and subtly nuanced, true to the song and yet deeply personal. There's a combination of restraint and drama here, as Krall ranges from the confident to the wistful, from loss to playful insinuation, as each song requires. "Cry Me a River" is bittersweet triumph, while "Love Letters" and "Maybe You'll Be There" maintain the most tenuous emotional hold, at once fragile and resilient. "Besame Mucho" and "Dancing in the Dark" are sultry romances wafted on light Latin beats. The songs develop their intimacy in the setting of Krall's quartet, which usually includes bassist Christian McBride and drummer Peter Erskine and several fine guitarists, most frequently Russell Malone. They're a superb complement to her voice and piano, and the close communication carries through the depth and sheen added by Claus Ogerman's rich orchestrations. --Stuart Broomer
