Singing all their greatest hits the pair are true professional entertainers. This is a thouroughly enjoyable view with great sound and lighting. RECOMMENDED HIGHLY. Customer Rating: Summary: GOD BLESS JAMES TAYLOR Comment: James Taylor was the driving force to get these icons back performing again. The emotion can be seen in their faces as they celebrate a fantstic reunion together. I didn't look, but if anyone gives this program ANYTHING LESS than a five they should be ashamed. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent concert by immature artists Comment: I listened to Simon & Garfunkel's music growing up in the seventies, but saw this concert on PBS, and bought both their Greatest Hits and Concert CDs afterwards. The DVD is enjoyable to watch, although I notice they took out the song where some nut charges Paul Simon during one of his solo songs, which wasn't a loss anyway (I speak of that song in the DVD). The song list is excellent, the performance as a whole is enjoyable to watch, and both of their voices are spectacular, to say the least. The only really jarring note is their lack of maturity as demonstrated by their on stage behavior. I am not one of those who seem to feel that the artistic temperament or the pop psychology self justification argument justifies such childish and unprofessional behavior, and it was a relief to see that they behaved in a much more mature fashion on their Old Friends tour and DVD. Which DVD/show is better is a subjective judgement, but this is an excellent show and this DVD is worth the price. They do a wonderful job in playing all the favorite hits. The sound track is excellent. I highly recommend this DVD to anyone who enjoys their music. More Reviews
Editorial Reviews: Performed with a who's-who of East Coast session aces before a record-setting crowd of half a million fans The Concert in Central Park finds its stars just shy of their 40th birthdays and very much in their primes their voices sweet and pure and their playing relaxed perfectly in tune and in synch. The show features a mix of S&G and solo Simon tunes including all the songs that appear on the CD with the addition of a reprise of "Late in the Evening" and the first live performance of Simon's "The Late Great Johnny Ace."
