Customer Rating: Summary: Timely Comment: I'm guessing that this review is about the person/group who sent me this item and if that's the case, then I'm happy to write that I received this anticipated product in a timely manner. It was well protected and came in perfect condition.
If this is about the actual product...I suggest that the purchaser should have seen the Musical prior to purchasing the CD. I watched it with my students then purchased the CD and we are all very happy.
Customer Rating: Summary: JUST FUN Comment: This recording of Seussical is just plain fun for both kids and adults. The editing is well done so that it is easy to follow the story of Horton and the Whos, making it especially great for youngsters.
Customer Rating: Summary: Seussical: The Musical - great music Comment: I got this because our theater is doing this next year and I wanted to hear the music in advance. Some great music - very well done. The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 was that the insert with the lyrics was missing the center pages. Luckily, the lyrics are easily found on the web.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wonderful Music for a wonderful Musical !!!! Comment: I was a guitar player in the band for a community theater production of this wonderful musical. The CD was vitally important for my practice of the music. Since the Musical itself is an "operetta", the majority of the show is captured on the CD. Buy the CD simply to enjoy the fantastic Seuss imagination and stories. The music itself is a wide variety of styles from ragtime to rock. The actors are fabulous and the singing is perfect. If you are a fan of Dr. Seuss, this CD is a must! And if you ever get a chance to see the stage production, even at the local community level, I encourage you to go! Your heart will be uplifted and you'll laugh a lot!
Customer Rating: Summary: WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Comment: MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE TAKEN OUR KIDS (AGES 4 & 6) TO SEE THIS TWICE AND WE'LL GO SEE IT AGAIN WHEN IT COMES BACK. IN THE MEANTIME, WE HAVE THIS CD SO WE CAN SING ALONG WITH AND ENJOY THE MUSIC. THIS IS VERY UP-BEAT AND FUN FOR ALL AGES. I LOVE IT AND SO DOES MY HUSBAND. THIS IS SOMETHING WE CAN ENJOY ALONG WITH THE KIDS. VERY TRUE TO THE STORIES BY DR. SEUSS, ANYONE WHO LOVES HIS BOOKS WILL LOVE THIS CD.

Editorial Reviews:

Seussical: the Musical, which is based on Dr. Seuss's beloved characters, made the news even before its Broadway opening, as tales of disastrous out-of-town tryouts multiplied and creative turmoil abounded. But the show has its fans--Rosie O'Donnell, for one, likes it so much that she jumped in to play the Cat in the Hat for a month while Roger Bart was on vacation. And guess what? As conceived by Ragtime's Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, Seussical isn't nearly as bad as its reputation would suggest. While Junior digs the familiar characters, Mom and Dad will notice that "A Day for the Cat in the Hat" could be an outtake from Cabaret--if that show had been rated G, of course--while "It's Possible" suddenly turns into an Elton John-type romp midway through. Easy on the ear and very pop, this is a kid-friendly cast album that won't insult an adult's intelligence. --Elisabeth Vincentelli
