Customer Rating: Summary: Languid, Latin and lustful Comment: The third disc in this series opens smoothly and progresses into a groove that is at one time synth funk and at another 60s pop diva. The Shirley Bassey "Where Do I Begin" is full and throaty, followed by the seductive and smooth Cosmos Sound Club with "Les Chrysanthemes." The general mood is relaxed, sedative even. Music to listen to while sitting beneath the shade of a large umbrella while sipping a pink limon by a pool with one or two handsome boys bathing on an oppressively hot day. The book in your lap is an afterthought as you gaze emptily upon the scene before you. This music abstracts you with its soporific rhythms.
Customer Rating: Summary: One of the best Costes overall Comment: I have always believed that the Costes series is the best lounge music compilation around, and even with its flaws, Mr. Pompougnac always delivers great albums.
I bought this album, after purchased vol. IV to X and the greatest hits, well, this is very uptempo and I feel that it blends very well unlike some of the other installments. Very good overall, hopefully if there's a Costes 11 in the works, it can be as enjoyable to listen as this one is.
Customer Rating: Summary: mmm... Comment: I dare you to be in a foul mood with this cd playing in the background. Mellow grooves punctuated by subtle innuendo make for a great soundtrack. Track 2, Shirley Bassey, really gets your attention. Lovely french lyrics peppered throughout also enhance what is sure to become a new favorite. (Of the Hotel Costes series, I've only listened to Vol. 2 and Vol. 3. So far, this is my favorite.)
Customer Rating: Summary: Still my favorite Comment: The Hotel Costes series is up to ten albums now and I have finally got around to writing a quick review of Etage 3. This one is still my favorite. It just flows so effortlessly, both within the tracks and from one track to another. I'm a great fan of the Hotel Costes series, and would be even more so if they were all like Etage 3.
Customer Rating: Summary: Really cool Comment: The first costes wasn't so good, but this ones really excellent. One of the best in this genre, i think. The shirley bass track rocks.

Since Pschent started the Costes series any old half-trendy restaurant has started releasing its 'downtempo' compilation. The covers all show someone on a sofa, the tracklistings all look the same, and the music is just plain boring. With Costes however we try to make sure that they are always fresh, interesting, the packaging is great (check out the inside of Etage 3). Not just another lounge compilation, we hope you'll agree.
