Customer Rating: Summary: One of my excellent decisions of the year Comment: I wanted the song "You had me from Hello". A dear friend of mine died this year and the first morning after his death my wake-up music was that song. I knew that that was now our song.
I am very pleased with the rest of the songs on the album...They are definitely some of his Greatest.
Customer Rating: Summary: John Deere Rides Again Comment: My brother-in-law, Wayne Schmick, is a John Deere tractor nut. I also have a soft spot in my heart for those 2-cylinder puffers. Wayne is also good at & appreciates restoring things, like tractors, buggies, hay rakes, etc. Anyway, when I saw Chesney on "60 Minutes" he mentioned one of his best selling CDs had a tune called "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" which I figured Wayne would love. It took me a couple months to find the darn thing, but it was worth the wait.
Customer Rating: Summary: He is so great! Comment: I love Kenny Chesney but don't want to own all of his cds. This is a great collection of his best tunes and I recommend it for anyone who just needs their "Kenny fix".
Customer Rating: Summary: A gift for my son in the USMC Comment: He loved the CD. And I am just happy to know he is listening to the kind of music he grew up with instead of that rap stuff I can't understand the words to, and am embarrassed when I do!
Customer Rating: Summary: His Best Early Work Comment: I actually never heard of Kenny until a friend played me his music. I think he sings well and emotionally, he registers with me deeply. I never knew how famous he was, as I am only recently getting into contemporary country--I am a Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn fan. Kenny has been accused of selling out, sounding too pop. I do admit that this CD features his best work--when he seemed more true to country, but he still has some great new songs. The best 2 here are Tin Man and Baptism, but the whole CD is worth it, particularly if you don't want to own every Kenny Chesney CD in the world!

Editorial Reviews:

East Tennessee-born singer Kenny Chesney has, in the course of his relatively brief career, proven to be an unremarkable but thoroughly competent singer who shows occasional flashes of brilliance when teamed with the right song. That happens roughly half the time on this 17-cut compilation disc, which, despite its title, actually includes four new songs, one rerecording, and a remix. Amid soppy country-pop chart fodder ("Me and You," "When I Close My Eyes") and second-rate ditties ("How Forever Feels," "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy"), Chesney hits his stride on robust country ballads like "You Had Me from Hello" and the lead single "I Lost It." On other gems--like "That's Why I'm Here," a heartfelt tribute to the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step program that topped the charts a while back; "Baptism," a great duet with Randy Travis; and his fine rerecording of "Tin Man," the song that launched his career in the mid '90s--Chesney even manages to attain an ephemeral but utterly moving transcendence over his vocal limitations and sometimes questionable song choices. --Bob Allen
