Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent in Every Way Comment: The lullabies are so pretty and soothing. My daughter falls fast asleep and it is a big part of her bedtime routine. I enjoy the songs as well. We used a Baby Einstein when she was first born and that one bored me terribly. I have even bought this for a couple of friends for their baby showers and they enjoy it as well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Our favorite lullaby CD Comment: This is my 5-month old's favorite lullaby CD. The music is soft and soothing and doesn't have annoying singers' voices (unlike the other lullaby CD I bought). The transitions between the songs are smooth and there are no loud or jarring notes in the songs that will wake the baby. Gotta love it!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great, soothing CD! Comment: I bought this cd over a year ago when my son was 7 months old. We still both love listening to it! It has wonderful relaxing tunes that I even listen to at night to "wind" down a little. I would recommend this to anyone!
Customer Rating: Summary: wonderful songs Comment: This is a wonderful CD to listen to at bed time. I put it on for my daughter every night and at nap time. I enjoy it almost as much as she does!
Customer Rating: Summary: Not as good as vol 2 Comment: I bought vol 2 for my son about 2 years ago and enjoyed it so much I thought I'd try vol 1 for my daughter. Boy was I disapointed. The main reason I got this one was for "Stay awake/Feed the birds", it's a beautiful song and sounds great on this CD. However during one of the tracks you can hear the sounds of children playing/talking. Maybe it's me but that doesn't seem to go hand in hand with sleeping. There are also some parts with a sax that seem kind of loud, and the intro into a few of the songs are loud bug noises similar to a summer night but more obnoxious than it should be. Overall I am not very happy with this collection and I will probably end up buying a second copy of vol 2.

Instrumental albums from Walt Disney's mega-empire are a rarity. But judging from the excellence of Disney's Lullaby Album--from the superb arrangements to the surprise song choices--you'll probably be hearing more of them. Producer and arranger Fred Mollin exhibits not only good taste and restraint in his approach, but his song choices sweetly complement one another. Treading the fine line between Muzak and genuinely soothing music, Mollin lands softly and sentimentally on such Disney movie song classics as "Baby Mine," "When You Wish upon a Star," and "Stay Awake/Feed the Birds," as well as on other chestnuts such as "Brahms Lullaby" and Kenny Loggins's "House at Pooh Corner." The real delights, though, are the Beatles' "I Will" (rendered beautifully on piano and strings), Louis Armstrong's timeless "What A Wonderful World," the classic "Beautiful Dreamer," the old doo-wop favorite "Good Night My Love (Pleasant Dreams)," and an inspired reprise of "Brahms Lullaby" joined with Gershwin's "Someone to Watch over Me." Complete with sleeping tips from psychology professor Jodi Mindell, Disney's Lullaby Album almost guarantees that you'll fall asleep before the baby does--for all the right reasons. --Martin Keller
