Comment: If you don't like Klezmer, then don't bother, but if you love it and find it haunting and beautiful at the same time then this is an extraordinary recording by wonderful artists. It demonstrates both the exuberance of the Eastern European Jewish culture and it also demonstrates an emotional pathos with which it is hard to find comparison. Many of the pieces are instrumental. Some are sung. Of those that are sung, most are in Yiddish. One, "Dance with Me to the End of Love", is in English. It is the title song for the album and deserves the position. It is a masterpiece. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Klezmer Comment: This is probably my favorite klezmer CD. It is touching at times, and fun at others. Judy Bressler is my nomination for the best vocalist in modern klezmer music. Customer Rating: Summary: Haunting melodies Comment: Listening to Dance Me To The End of Love brought back childhood memories of cultural practices long-forgotten. The title song has stayed in my mind,floating in and out with scenes of my grandparents and holiday celebrations. The musicians are first- rate; the vocalist sublime. This CD made me want to sit down and cry; then dance and sing along at the same time. My children were fascinated and charmed with the music. The Klezmer Conservatory Band is as wonderful on CD as they are live! Customer Rating: Summary: Just beautiful Comment: A very nice mix of Klezmer and love. Through extensive touring, radio and television appearances, and their recordings, they have spread this exuberant and diverse musical tradition farther than it has ever gone before. Dance Me to the End of Love returns the band to the roots of Yiddish music, featuring many seldom-heard songs passed along to them by their teachers and friends. But, as always with the KCB, every moment of these shimmering arrangements brings to the listener a feeling of newness and discovery.
