Summary: Great Music
Comment: Grover Washington - Ultimate Collecttion
This is an excellent CD. I thought I had all of Grover's music. However, I found several collections I do not have. But, this collection is great. I play it when I exercise, go walking, on the stereo at home, my pc or in the car. I love it. The song I was looking for is on here.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ruby Glover

Summary: "Grover Washington Jr. was the Ultimate"
Comment: When you think of "INNER CITY BLUES" (1972) a Marvin Gaye tune, there is a man who gives us his interpretation with sounds of Jazz/Rhythm & Blues to a perfect blend, the great saxophonist Grover Washington Jr. This artist became a major name after recording "MISTER MAGIC" (1975) with Bob James, with his classic sound. On every track Grover displays his skills as the brilliant artist he was, a collection of the most diversified music ever to come out of this man's heart and soul.Highlights are - "JUST THE TWO OF US" (1980) composed by Bill Withers and his vocal on this track is enhanced by this wonderful arrangement, complete perfection - "REED SEED" (trio tune)(1978) smooth, with superb harmonies from Grover who composed this composition, classical in every way - "AIN'T NO SUNSHINE" (1972) another Withers tune from the depths of soul, let's the sunshine in on a top flight performance from Washington.
Hip-O Records and Pat Lawrence have given us the "Ultimate" with this collection of the best and some of the best from legend - Grover Washington Jr.!

Comment: Yes, I agree-Heaven has some of the greatest horn blowers ever! I know the man upstairs is really happy. Our loss, but His gain. This is one of the best albums by Grover, and even if you are not a serious listener, this is the one to have. A real taste of the Grover we all know and still love...
