Customer Rating: Summary: Greatest Hits CD Comment: This is a good compilation of his hits. I bought it mainly for my old favorite, "Cool Night".
Customer Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Hidden Gem Comment: 30 years after I first heard it, "Cool Night" still plays in my head regularly. Finally located this album which has "Cool Night" as well as many outstanding songs. "Cool Night," "Sweet Life," and "65 Love Affair" are still timeless, amazing songs that sound as good today as they did back then. I remembered most of the songs on here well, and even enjoyed the country songs (which are not normally my cup of tea). This album is a wonderul, hidden gem from a gentler, kinder era. Listening to it made me FEEL like I was back in the 70's! Paul Davis has enormous talent - he has to be one of the most underrated and overlooked musicians of the era. I would love for him to make a comeback! I would love to hear more from him. This album features great vocals, simple yet profound lyrics, and wonderful music! - sadly, they don't make songs like these anymore. I highly recommend this album!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Compilation, Wretched Sound Quality! Comment: This c.d. is a wonderful compilation of Paul Davis's work and includes an insert that contains interesting synopsis of each song. However, the sound quality of this c.d. is atrocious! It's hard to believe that the company let something as bad as this be sold on their label.
Customer Rating: Summary: Such a Good Songwriter Comment: Great collection--I'd forgotten that Paul Davis wrote some of these, & most of them bring back very distinct memories. And, OMG, "A Little Bit of Soap"--hadn't heard that in forever!(LOL) If you love "Cool Night","65 Love Affair", "Sweet Life," & "I Go Crazy" (IMO his best song that has & will stand the test of time) then this is the Paul Davis CD for you. :)
Customer Rating: Summary: Sweet Life is Sweet Comment: This is a great album with many songs that get a lot of radio play on the oldies. I can't believe I didn't know who Paul Davis was a month ago.
