Customer Rating: Summary: Words from a Monte minion Comment: Ahhh, yeah - this CD is GOOD! Monte, for me anyway, is the one artist that I can call my own. I'm not the type of listener that jumps on a bandwagon (pun intended). He is not mainstream, but his songs speak to me, even now - years after the shine has worn off. I've seen him twice (both times in Steven's Point, WI). Amazing performance both times! I can't wait to rate his Sept. '08 release.
Customer Rating: Summary: Guitar demi-god Comment: Monte Montgomery is first and formost a guitar player. Yes, he sings and writes songs but its with a Taylor strapped around his neck and fingers flying over the frets that he's at home. With Chris Maresh on bass and Phil Bass on drums, Monte has a backbeat for his aurelly addicting style of play. If Eric Clapton is God then Monte is a demi-god. Rock On!
Customer Rating: Summary: Good Start Comment: This is a good album with good sound and a focused Monte playing guitar the way he is capable.
Still, his At WorkPlay is a superior album with a harder edge to it that seems to suit Monte a heck of a lot better. This album was released in 1999 and shows his promise to come.
Customer Rating: Summary: great monte! Comment: ah yes! this is one of my favorite cd's. i love all the songs on it. ever since i heard about him and decided to give him a try i just couldnt stop listening to him. his cd is always in the player. in fact i want to get an i pod just so that i can have ALL his cd's available when ever i want and not have to have all his cds. to much to carry. he is just that great!
Customer Rating: Summary: Please Come to Atlanta Comment: I just had to write. I bought this album a couple of years ago based on the recommendation of some guy at a concert. I listened to it once and it just didn't do anything for me, so I put it back on the shelf. Then about two weeks ago I was picking things to play in the car and said okay I'll give it a second chance. It hasn't left the CD player since. I must have played it 15 times. The guy is an amazing guitar player, the hooks are great, the solos are great, recording quality great, and once you get used to them, the vocals are pretty darn good. I have already ordered two more albums by Monte and can't wait to hear them. Now if we can just get him to Atlanta so I can see that incredible playing live.

The buzz is getting out! In the March 2000 issue of Guitar One Magazine titled, "BEST IN THE U.S.", Monte Montgomery was chosen as one of The Best 10 (unknown) Guitarists in America. The article states: "Monte Montgomery was the first artist chosen for this column (the first to make our jaws drop!). His scorching yet musical solos, combined with great pop sensibility in his songwriting, are what cought our ear. But when you consider that he's playing those Van Halen-esque solos on an acoustic guitar with distortion, it becomes a slam dunk" - Guitar One Magazine.
