Summary: Blackstreet's Underrated Album
Comment: After releasing 2 straight classic albums in "Blackstreet" and "Another Level" this "Finally" album might seem like a dissapointment but really there's still a lot of great music here that shouldn't be slept on the way it is. My favorite songs are "Hustler's Prayer", "In A Rush", "Black & White", "Take Me There", and "Yo Love", while it's not Blackstreet's best, it's probably better than 90% of what's been out there recently, definately worth checking.

Summary: The downward spiral begin with this disc
Comment: After releasing two back to back discs, Blackstreet began their downward spiral with this medicore CD. For starters the group is without the smooth falestto of Mark Middleton and instead were giving Terrel Phillips. Second the huge single Take Me There is presented in a weak remix and finally there's only good ballad on the CD which is Think About You. I don't know what happened to the Blackstreet from the excllent Another Level because they for sure aren't on this disc.

Summary: Its still good
Comment: While "finally" isnt as good as "Another Level". What is offered on the CD is more than enough at least for me to give this CD four stars which is solid. I actually found myself enjoying "In A Rush" to me its simple and the song doesnt do a whole lot but then again it doesnt need to. Just a listen or two to the song just something about the song had me enjoying each time i listened to it. Also "Girlfriend/Boyfriend" with Janet Jackson an obvious selection as a single and the song works with the guys trading lines back and forth with her. Also an equally enjoyable video accompanies this song as well. Normally i dont enjoy most intros on artist cds but i really enjoyed the "Blackstreet Intro" on this cd the vocals of the female on this...i just really liked it. Also enjoyable "Can You Feel me" which takes a sample from Michael Jackson's song "Can You Feel it" and works it around nicely.
"Drama" with Mary J is easily one of the most enjoyable tracks on the cd for me. They just picked the right person to hook up with on this song and Mary works her part of the song like no other. A definite slow burner and a very worthy song to the CD. Other songs that are worth a few listens the title track "Finally" and "I'm Sorry. Also enjoyed the "take me there (remix) its from Nickolodeon and everything but its still pretty decent.
All in all while its not quite there with their previous release. Blackstreet shows they know how to put together a solid album.

Summary: Finally went Gold!!
Comment: I remember this album when I was in the 6th-7th grade. I love this CD. This album is a definitive statement,the end of the 20th century. This record sets the template for what R&B must sound like as they entered in 2000. This album is about R&B that is willing to work without a net. It is confident and schooled enught to give the peeps what they want and deserved, like everything Teddy has touched in his years making music. It is that bag of chips and the possibilities and the promise of R&B, delivered by four of its soulful practitioners. This album has been certified Gold. Remember,this was 1999.

Teddy Riley has been in the game for 15 years now, and still knows how to keep up with the fast-changing R&B and hip-hop worlds. On Blackstreet's third album he employs all the current tricks, including an impressive list of cameos (Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, and Jay-Z), but you have to wonder what it would sound like if he simply delivered more of the classic party-jam funk that was responsible for past hits "No Diggity" and "Booty Call." Riley doesn't need some of the production gimmicks he uses here; at first listen the songs can be jarring, though by the third or fourth spin, they sound as fresh as everything else he produces. As soulful and emotional as the ballads are, it's the dance-floor shakers "Boyfriend/Girlfriend," "Can You Feel It," and "On the Floor" that keep Blackstreet in position as soul superstars. --Rebecca Wallwork
