Customer Rating: Summary: Just awesome! Comment: I got to enjoy all of my favorite artists covering the king of the Mexican song, it was just awesome!
Customer Rating: Summary: Top Notch! Comment: This Cd is an amazing musical production with the best latin groups that sing great songs from Jose Jose that (most of the kids that were teenagers when this Cd came out) we grew up listening.
Each song has a high quality and a different version from the original. I highly recomend this!
Customer Rating: Summary: The best and most creative Jose Jose tribute Comment: Bringing together the most talented rock bands from Mexico, "Tributo", is an album that any fan of Jose Jose should have. Every track is a creative spin on the classic hits of the legendary singer. I especially enjoyed Molotov's version of "Payaso".
Customer Rating: Summary: Finally released to the US market Comment: I bought the original Mexican release from a pirate music stall in Mexico City in 2000. This album is a who's who of the then (1998) current Mexican Rock stars covering one of Mexico's mariachi singers. I have seen many of these bands live in concert and every time they cover "tradicional" music the crowd goes wild. Also look for tributes to Jose Alfredo Jimenez "XXX" and Los Tigres Del Norte "El Mas Grande Homenaje A Los Tigres Del Norte" Each of the featured artists also have many albums of thier own and are very fun to listen to if you like the latin ska that is tempered with the accordian for a rich and textured sound. Also I recommend Celso Pina "Barrio Bravo" for another cumbia rock fusion with an older musical ledgend and the young up and comers
Customer Rating: Summary: A Swell Idea, A Couple Gems Comment: Moenia's electronic pop/rock version of "Vulcán" is wonderful, I can listen to that 50 times in a row without getting sick of it. Also Control Machete and Molotov make interesting contributions as does Maldita Vecindad. All in all there 5 or 6 songs I enjoy. I do reccomend it overall.
